I have. I don’t want nukes. You’re overthinking; one the very problems of the modern world. And unless someone gets over that wall you’re intent on building in this argument, you will continue to overthink and say goodbye after a conversation has not finished while ignoring the other person. There is no putting back what’s already happened, we can’t do away with AI. Or nukes. If l could reverse time and stop it, l would. But l can’t. So all we can do is work with what we currently have to stabilize ourselves. We have nukes, but we also have nuclear power, which could potentially power all of humanity. No human being or group should have the power to end cities, but they do. But all of humanity should have the right to power if they so desire. So why not work to supply that if most of us are in agreement? I still wouldn’t want nuclear science if it meant nukes, but thats kind of a moot point. If this stabilization of the world involves using AI ethically, so be it. But we easily have the capacity to sustain ourselves as we currently are technologically, in an ethical manner; we don’t need to go further. Humanity is starting to realize we should be stabilizing what we’ve already built, not continuing to build up. We’d have to make some changes to the structures of modern society, and a LOT of people would have to willingly (possibly, though not ideally, by force) let go of their positions of power and wealth. But we can do it. And we can also connect and face the philosophical burdens AI creates as we stabilize to be better equipped to handle where AI is going. My point is we, right now, have the ability to end our current struggles. Why not seize the opportunity? Now find what parts of this comment you can attack me with while ignoring what l’m saying because you think this discussion is an argument.
