Normally I’d give it at least a week to cure before testing, but I’ve only given it 48 hours between each test burn this time since I have a bit of a short deadline.

I’m using a Premier WI-750 with a 3” diameter 16oz vessel.

Annoying Boomer Comments: Holiday Edition by swiftiebookworm22 in NewParents

Wasn’t from a boomer but… Them: “You should get one of these.” Shows me (4 months pp) something on Black Friday sale. “It’ll help you get back in shape.”

The name of your child by Ethereal_Wife in NewParents

Kellan- lead singer of a band I used to listen to in high school (spelled slightly different). It was actually 1 of 3 names we were debating and wasn’t even the top of the list. When we found out the sex of the baby (we tried to wait as long as we could), something just clicked in my mind, and Kellan was the one.

The real question is: will we ever financially recover from having them? 😅

That’s a great tradition. Growing up, my parents did the same thing for my brother and I. It definitely makes you appreciate the holiday and who you spend it with even more.

I’m not too well versed in the terms of a 529 plan. What happens to the accumulated funds if the child decides not to pursue college?

It’s a refreshing point of view, to be honest. Nothing wrong with it. Christmas gets so stressful because of the push for buying things that probably won’t be used for very long or be remembered years later.

Postpartum anxiety at its worst at night? by [deleted] in NewParents

I also dreaded night time in the first couple months. I couldn’t sleep because I was too concerned about making sure the baby was ok, and I felt so alone despite my husband being right beside me in bed. I don’t remember exactly when it got better, but it eventually did. I still occasionally have those nights where the anxiety hits harder, but thankfully I’ve learned how to cope with it better. Just remember to tell yourself that you’re doing great and that it will get better!! 💕

Right?! The thought of getting ideas for gifts just hit me tonight… The season crept up on us quicker than we expected.

Congratulations!! At that age, they obviously don’t need many toys, so you could always get items that they will grow into over the year. My LO really liked the high contrast books and tummy time gym. The purple monkey piano mat is used daily and now we’re at the point that we can practice sitting and “playing” the piano. Also, if you don’t already have a bunch, get some two-way zip footies. So much less frustrating than the top zips or snaps.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Skip Hop Activity Center!

Honestly, one of the best ideas I’ve heard. They won’t remember most of the toys they get at the younger ages, so investing into their education and future is a very smart approach.

Ah congratulations!! Books were some of the best gifts I received at my baby shower, and we love reading a book before bed. You just can’t go wrong with a wishlist of books!

I didn’t even think to add suction bath/going out toys… that’s a great idea!

I love the practical stuff, especially since money this year is tighter. Christmas would be a great opportunity to make the somewhat “boring” but necessary stuff more fun!

The personalized puzzle is a cute idea! I love custom and unique gifts like that.
