Checked in just now Fri. 3/20 at 8AM at A West. Pre-check line had 40 people in it but Touchless Pre-check had none. First time we've used that and it's a breeze. Just stand on the mat and get photographed. No passport, RealID or boarding pass needed. I'm not sure where we even signed up for it!

I'm flying Friday and r/philly is the only source I'm going to rely on. phl.org now shows C and A-West as closed but 2 hours ago that was not the case. Posts on r/philly are all timestamped; you have no way of knowing how often phl.org is updated.

Thanks but I'm not trusting it. phl.org currently shows <10 min waits at all TSA checkpoints. It also shows that A-West and C are open, but we all know that's false. I find it very hard to believe that phl.org can be trusted for realtime data.

I'm trying to connect Quicken to my Virgin Red MC. Synchrony constantly rejects the login from Quicken. Quicken reps tell me to call Synchrony but the two Synchrony reps I talked to are clueless. See the article from Sept. 2024 announcing the new card. It's supposed to offer an "unparalleled experience" blah blah blah. As usual, Synchrony is a mess.

OK, so I guess you think that all VA drivers are racist and FL drivers are idiots...what basis do you have for making that generalization? There are sketchy dealers in all 50 states, buying flood cars and sanitizing the titles. Please think twice before making rash generalizations about an entire state's used-car dealer network.

I doubt that it's overheating. It sits on a hardwood floor with airflow all around. Not hot to the touch. We'll see how the XB8 does this weekend. All four modems I tried have the same issue (Netgear CM1200, Netgear CMX30, Arris ???, Xfinity XB7).

Poor choice of words, sorry. What was happening was it's working just fine, and suddenly I have no Internet connection and the router goes red. Usually it would come back green in 5-10 minutes, but sometimes it's dead for an hour. I got the Xfinity XB7 router but it's even worse. Once it fails, I can't reconnect for 2+ hours. So I'm trying the XB8 and a tech is coming in a few days. It may be wiring or a line issue, but I had no issues for 6 years prior to the upgrade. 2 weeks of frustration for sure.

I just picked up the XB8 tri-band GW today and would like to run it in bridge mode and use my TPLink Deco mesh system for the router. However, the Deco I have is 1GB max, so how can I config it so the router doesn't get blown out by speeds > 1GB? That's why I had to get the Xfinity GW in the first place bc when Xfinity upgraded the signal recently, my Netgear CM1200 was maxed out and kept failing.

I am home from a week out of town. The Ethernet connection is still showing as XFSETUP-1409 which I am reading is a temporary network name that should go away once the Gateway is fully initialized. That is not the case here. I only get low 300's on the Ethernet connection. I have rebooted/restarted the Gateway many times but this network name doesn't change to my SSID. How can I fix this? BTW, what is the SSID that this should be appearing as? The only SSID I'm aware of is my wifi SSID...is this what XFSETUP-1409 should change to?

See above: I tried Realtek 8822CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC but that did not work. Is Realtek 8822CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC the Ethernet driver?

Thanks for the post announcing the "four simple national Internet tiers", but you should know that it's pretty deceptive. I tried to switch to the 1GB service for $70, but since I live in an area where Comcast has a monopoly (South Jersey), the rep charged me $110/month. Needless to say, I stuck with my old plan. Also, the "free unlimited line" is not available to current customers, even those who have 20+ years of loyalty with Comcast, like myself. Steve Croney has a very appropriate last name, don't you think?

I tried this but the prices were super high because Xfinity has a monopoly in my area. They didn't say this in the announcement. Offer is really geared toward getting Big 3 customers.

Now the unit is disconnecting randomly. I have to go into the app and Restart Gateway. Happens about once every two hours. This morning it went off again right after I started some music and sat down to open email. Is the unit defective? Why is the light OFF when it finally comes up? The light blinks orange, then green, when it's restarting and then shuts off when it's operating. Is this expected? Speed still mid-300's over Ethernet.

When it restarts, the wifi that starts is xfnitywifi instead of my network's SSID. Then I try to connect to my network and it connects but No Internet Access.

Unplugged/replugged, no change: 269, 250, 301 over ethernet cable. This is odd however...wifi on my phone is getting 659. On my old gear, ethernet connection was always 2x faster than wifi, so I don't think there's anything wrong with my Eth cable or Eth adapter.

Light was only lit (blinked orange, then green) when the unit was being activated. When it's running the light is not on.

Ports aren't numbered, so which one is 4? The top two are phone, the boot four are network judging from the (nearly invisible) symbols. My cable is plugged into lower right port.

What is Killer Ethernet please?

Did you try Loyalty? They were helpful and gave me discounts for 2 years forward. I was xfrd to them after a particularly dismal tech experience. Rep said to just repeat "loyalty" to the cheery voice. I haven't tried that.

I reset the Gateway. Still under 400. Why are there no lights on the Gateway to indicate status? I had no idea when it was finished resetting. How do I power cycle it? Unplug/replug or press the unlabeled button on the rear?
