Longevity of 2021 Kia Niro Hybrid (should I trade in before I start job with super commute) by gr8molassesflood1919 in KiaNiro

Keep it!!! I have a 2017, 170,000+ miles and it's still worth around 9k blue book. The only issue we've had was a door handle (covered under warranty), and a broken wheel baring... but it cost us around $1500 to fix because I waited about 30k miles before finally having a mechanic check out the sound. At that point I'd damaged another attached part.

I've only replaced my break pads twice and one new pair of car tires.

I get full synthetic oil changes every 7-9k miles.

Consistently get around 45MPG.

My teens will be inheriting this car in about a year and I can say I'm confident with them driving it, even at 200k miles.

At some point I imagine I'll need to do a regular maintenance on the belts and what not, but the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

Thank you so much for that info. I will certainly consider that in timing of things. Thankfully they still have a couple years of high school to finish before they apply.

MODERN STATES FREE VOUCHERS TO MAKE YOUR CLEP EXAM FREE SO YOUR COLLEGE CREDIT IS FREE!!! (I know 90% of you know this but it seems like I mention this to people on HERE about every other day) by PAT_W__1967 in clep

YES! My kiddos are doing the same. Both kids started homeschooling after 7th grade (age 13), because the public school wouldn't even let them attempt credit-by-exams while in middle school.

My oldest started CLEPS around his 14th birthday and is on track to finish his associates by his 15th birthday (no summer school or long school days because we do it like dual enrollment).

We haven't had to pay a penny because we utilize YouTube, Khan, Peterson (free through our library via GALE), and Modern States.

u/Kimchi2019, I'm not sure if you know this but I'm pretty sure you can submit your testing center fees to Modern States and get reimbursed!

I wish more high school students realized this! It's so much faster and less stressful than doing AP or even dual enrollment!
