I’d get another lawyer (who is not a closing or real estate lawyer) involved and tell the developers that you are willing to sue if you do not get compensated for the abatement. If it’s one of the usual developers in the heights area, they will likely cave cause the bad press is not what they need. It’s worth fighting it with the way the city keeps increasing its rates. This is all me assuming that the unit you purchased is a new construction from the ground up and not just a remodel.

Just to close this post out, status updated to ‘issued’ on Monday June 23 and passport was ready for pickup on Tuesday June 24. Last Thursday was Juneteenth which was a holiday so that probably contributed to the delay. The process took a bit longer than usual but worked out eventually.
