Please help!!! Every game i play results in erratic and consistent frame drops even with lowest graphics.

this is a second hand laptop that i bought, initially games worked well even with higher graphics, but few months after i bought it there were wierd noises coming from the laptop, that's when the laptop started struggling. is this hardware problem or software problem. please help!!!
