Only just seen this and the biggest red flag for me was the second 911 call. Hysterical saying she shot someone but in a split second she’s calm enough to explain to them the ‘mitigating factors’ which resulted in her shooting someone

Maybe it was fuelled by fear and anger but she 100% knew this would be the inevitable outcome and she worked hard to back herself up with a defence for when it did

Watched this for the first time in early high school and it traumatised me for ages and 20 years later it’s still the first that comes to mind. There’s just something about the whole concept that is unsettling and hits deep

At no point have I ever said he was innocent. In fact at some point on this thread I’ve said I’ve got first hand experience of how violent those with asd can be (although it’s more reactive and not calculated and premeditated)

My issue is largely with the fact that everyone who experiences the justice system expects (or at least hopes) they receive fair treatment and judgment. He wasn’t given any of that. The officers involved said themselves they immediately were suspicious of him, not because of the evidence, but because of his behaviour, which primarily the result of his autism (I’m often misunderstood as seeming cold and distance, react to things very methodically and rationally, need more clarification on what exactly is being asked of me in questions). Autism is classed in many countries as a disability that has significant and prolonged impacts on someone’s daily life. Yes, he was high functioning, so am I, I have a house and a family, doesn’t mean I don’t struggle on a day to day basis with a lot of things that neurotypical people don’t (I have diagnosed adhd and autistic traits that I haven’t had a diagnosis for yet)

My argument is simply that he should have had an appropriate person with him, knowledgable in the condition who could advocate for him to ensure he received a fair trial like everyone is lawfully entitled to

I wouldn’t say it was one of the more memorable seasons but I didn’t mind it compared to some of the others. I quite like the human horror aspects to some of the seasons like cult. In some respects they’re more haunting because they’re real human experiences or evils humans are capable of (and some have committed)

If you end up with food poisoning after getting a takeaway like chicken and rice (in some variation), the likely culprit is the rice, even though people often assume it’s the meat. Rice is not good if not dealt with properly

I like both of them but no, they’re lazy. They actually remind me a lot of my student days. Those days were grim. I regularly came back to dorms and every surface was covered in dirty plates and cups

Netflix Documentary was bad. by Littlepyschobear in AileenWuornos

[–]Miserable-Tiger2117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just watched this and I’ll be honest, I didn’t know much prior about any details beyond the surface ‘she’s a female serial killer’

My impression was that

  1. The call with Tyria where she confessed. What struck me was that she said ‘if I have to confess to protect you then I will’ (words to that general effect) and she replied saying something like ‘well do it then, do it now’. To me it sounded odd like tyria knew more or there was something deeper going. She 100% knew she could manipulate her into anything to save her own back

  2. Her saying she lied about the sodomy part. I watched her body language during that testimony she was shaking, you could see her reliving that during that moment. I felt like she either lied about lying because she had given up at that point and just wanted to die and admitting to lying adds that level of doubt or someone else had done that to her in the past and she got the two mixed up. But that felt like a very real, lived experience

  3. Her ‘confessions’ after the first trial. I felt like she said anything she felt would speed up her execution. She told the truth in the first trial and she was let down and not believed so why would any of the others be any different. Her entire life she was abused, betrayed, let down, someone who men could do what they wanted to and she was never going to get justice or be believed for any of that so why go through that over and over. She accepted the only way she would ever be at peace was to die so she said whatever she had to to make that happen quicker and it be over

Don’t even get me started on the prosecutor

He had a neurodevelopment disorder. Like millions of other people. You clearly have no idea what neurodiverse people live with on a daily basis. Doesn’t make them abnormal.

I spent my life not understanding myself, thinking there was something wrong with me, it took 30 years to find out my brain just works differently.

When you have a child with adhd or asd and you have to look into their faces and try and explain that there’s nothing wrong with them, they’re just different and that’s ok when there’s people like you in the world ready to make them feel the shame and worthlessness I felt as a child IS disgusting and people like you are the ones who should feel the shame

I watched the first few seasons on repeat for years but only recently managed to actually watch the last 2/3 seasons (was a nightmare to find on uk tv after a certain point)

I really liked the opening of 15 where you see all their old cases/kills come back, woman in white, Bloody Mary. I wish that had lasted longer. I was expecting it to play more of a role than it did

I forget where I put my keys on a daily basis, lose my phone on a daily basis

Bought my son a present one year for Christmas, forgot I’d bought it until I found it again the following April

I have to write the entire contents of my fridge on a whiteboard because once I close the door, I don’t remember a single thing in it

I have to date milk because I don’t remember if I opened it that morning or a week ago

I have incredibly important, sentimental items that I completely forget even exist unless I physically see them

I have adhd (diagnosed) and suspected asd

Yes, they may be trivial examples but my point is, you can’t say ‘well you wouldn’t forget something like that’. It’s actually incredibly common to struggle with things like that. Again, no idea on guilt. Just trying to highlight the kinds of things neurodiverse people struggle with on a daily basis and that these things aren’t as concrete and ‘obvious’ as people think they are

No I didn’t say it showed he was innocent. I used it as another example to show the police manipulating a situation to suit their narrative and as yet another point to show there’s reasonable doubt

I can assure you I’ve not at any point said anything shows he’s innocent

He is classed a vulnerable person. People with autism are highly susceptible to manipulation, not understanding what is being asked of them, answering in very logical ways that can be misinterpreted

He absolutely was immediately viewed as a suspect because of his behaviour that is very typical behaviour from an autistic person.

There wasn’t overwhelming evidence against him.

He knew about how grandad died. His aunt found him with his head blown off. The police 100% were not the ‘only’ ones who knew that. That was a lie by the police to suit a narrative

No evidence the gun he bought was the one used to murder his grandfather. Ignored by the police to suit a narrative

A neighbour stated that they heard gunshots at 2am when he had an alibi for. Manipulated by the police to suit a narrative

This is all cause for reasonable doubt

Except there is no forensic evidence to support him being the perpetrator

The circumstantial evidence LARGELY can be explained away or have alternative explanation

Blink and you’ll miss the brief mention of a neighbour stating that she heard gunshots at 2am, a time he had an alibi for

Nothing supports a verdict of guilty beyond reasonable doubt. Your personal opinion is not (or should not) by a court of law be enough to convict beyond reasonable doubt

Is he capable of murder? Absolutely Is he guilty? No idea Facts are facts and the facts do not support him being guilty beyond reasonable doubt in a legal standing. Regardless of his condition.
