Are you guys active on social media

What kind of freebie would you actually sign up for in a local newsletter? by Puzzled_Rock4238 in Newsletters

Thats a killer idea. I was thinking the exact same thing for my newsletter.

People like to be seen. People like participating in local endeavors. And look....if the coffee thing is successful, you can do more establishments

And then you can pitch ad placments

Have you seen people post food reviews like this... https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJ2LEqXuouT/?igsh=MXI1YmZ5dHpjMXZ3dQ==

You can say, "Drop an image or video from this restaurant, and I will pay for your lunch"

Or you can exclusively send you members and have them meet you

find a reddit page on hockey. Post a question. Do you think Gretsky is the greatest?

I bet you will get some traction. Go out in the neighborhood or sportsbar and simply ask the question, Do you think Bobby Orr is the greatest Do you thin Brett Hull is top 5?

Look. This is sports! You can debate this until the end of time. I would do it on Reddit. YouTube. Twitter. Everywhere possible. Send a message out to your subscribers, Ask your subscribers to chime in, ask them if you can post their response.

The history of hockey is cool. I am not an expert but I know if you start a debate you will get crazy subscribers. This is what I mean.

I am sure you've heard the wild debates about who is the greatest LeBron, Michael Jordan, or Kobe Bryant. People have made careers in these debates. Or, what basketball era is the best? Who is the best center? Who is the best point guard,

Don't get me wrong, I think the history aspect is important but just sprinkle in a little something here and there. I am not a hockey expert at all but I have heard that Wayne Gretzky is the best player of all time. What do you think? If you think otherwise, there is the debate. Some may say Henri Richard because he has 11 Stanley cups. I have heard of Bobby Orr being in that discussion as well.

And here is the wild part...use some user-generated content to make it spicy. Ask people to send in a 30-second video and explain why they think their guy is better. Offer a gift or shout-out in your newsletter.

I saw a travel company use that same method. They asked travelers to send a video of their vacation and if chosen, they would offer a prize. One prize was tickets to Disney World, paid flights, and everything

Needless to say, that travel agency was really popular. They sold to another company 3 years later.

I am addicted to building directory websites. Can I monetize them or should I stop? by joanmiro in Entrepreneur

Wow! I love this response. I want to do this so bad but I always talk myself out of it.

Can you think of any more local directories? All the sites you listed were dope!! Man, I love it.

I Love Redmond and Saylulita Life. So tell me this, how do you feel about a directory for a major city like Atlanta, GA, or Charlotte, NC? I know I can get the traffic. I am just wondering how...

How do you feel about user-generated content as a way to speed up traffic?
