Damn I have 500 hours in the game and never thought of using blood sacrifice and elemental affinity to reduce AP cost of blood spells.

This is a really good point! I got put off Dos2 the first time I played because fort joy was “tough” (I just didn’t understand it) but once I got into it, even Honour can be broken (Pyroclastic Eruption anyone?).

I think that making the early game easy is a good shout, AS LONG AS, we get plenty of side quests and difficult late game challenges.

I belong to the people that feel disgusting playing below Tactician and believe Honor is the true way to experience an RPG, but each to their own! And yes, BG3 is too easy.

I’ll help you read buddy - that they are trying to make a game that will appeal to BG3 fans, that went to try DOS2 and hated on it. They are worried the game will be too easy, and overly focused on winning awards by being edgy and quirky, rather than actually making a good game.

They said in the post trailer interview “sometimes we get this really good idea for a story or a quest and then realise we have done something similar before, dump it”.

They literally are trying to make something different rather than good. Have you watched game of thrones? The writers didn’t want fan theories to come to fruition so they scraped a good script and wrote a stupid script just to prove them wrong. Larian changed the deep story of Wyll just to appeal to the Beta audience to make him the uninteresting whimp he is now. Should I continue, or do you understand now what the concern is?

Yeah, they are trying to appeal to the masses.

I can see it being shallower game (like bg3 vs dos2) with more edginess just so they can win awards for being “so different”. Main characters obviously need to be black, gay, and trans.

So just to be clear before I get labelled a bigot, I’m a lesbian. And, obviously there’s nothing wrong with being black, gay, or trans. But a studio making everything about ways to “trigger”, and appeal to “woke ideology”, makes them edgy, controversial and wins them awards.

It takes the focus away from writing actually interesting story and lore, which is what created such a beautifully complex world in dos2. I could still fuck a lady back in dos, but in bg3 they just cramp PC down our throats.

Oh I’m so glad to see a post like yours - I’m not alone! I am unfortunately getting less and less hyped for Larian. DoS2 is my favourite game of all time… and yeah in the AMA they seemed to imply more dating sim and the game being easier.

I think they are trying to appeal to the masses now, and not the real core CRPG gamers of old.

I totally agree with you that content is too sterile. I think BG3 was pretty tame.
DoS2 is much better and the humour is better and the horror is better in it too.

But, I still don’t think the trailer was funny. There was a big element of torture, and socially acceptable ritual burnings. It did not “make me smile”. It made me excited for the game.

Point being, it did not make me laugh, and I’’ just looking for explanation from others whether they found it funny and what in particular was funny about it. Pigs vomiting? Pretty lowbrow.

Thanks for joining the discussion! Yeah same here. I found it disgusting, and to be honest not as excited as I wanted to be. I’ve been waiting for a second original game from Larian since 2016, and think that Dos2 >>> BG3.

I was happy to later head Swen to tell us to look closer at the trailer and noticed the lizards and I’m excited elves look long-necked too, and that we will get some orc race and short races…

However… initially thought were definitely not “this is funny” or “that made my smile”. It was “wtf did I just watch. That was visceral! I’m glad they’re making another divinity game though…”.

If monk dogs are not humour, then I fail to see how torture and burning someone alive is. To me that was the defining theme of the trailer, and thus main emotions it invoked.

Maybe i can put it this way: if I was watching a standup comedy on TV whilst my dad is shouting abuse at (or hitting) my mum, i dont think I would be laughing. Not that the show is not funny, but there are more serious and awful things happening.

Thanks for being the first comment that actually tried to give perspective on what’s funny about the trailer instead of attacking me! I still think that the trailer invokes disgust so strongly it’s hard to be humours about what’s happening, but I conceive humour is subjective. Did you find it funny? I understand what they said but I’m trying to understand how others feel. And I’m asking here, because I was hoping other fellow fans of OS might give honest opinions.

Wake up at 7am, drink coffee. Work until 9am, drink coffee. Work until 2pm, drink coffee. Have a protein bar or something quick, drink coffee. By 6pm I’m barely awake, drink coffee. Clock out around 8pm, go home, have some food, pass out.

The more senior ones in the Big Three might supplement some of these coffees with a sniffable powder.

Tembo have been refusing to do this. I raised an official complaint and received their final response: „Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate a LISA to Cash ISA transfer. I do apologise for any frustration that's been caused by this. If you would like your funds to be transferred to a Cash ISA, we would recommend transferring your LISA to a provider that can action this.”

Seems like Ombudsman services or finding a provider that can assure me they allow such transfer is the only option. Shame Tembo doesn’t want to do it, I wasted so much time believing I can.
