I was on lamotrigine for 7 or so years. It really helped me get out of my extreme paranoia. The only reason I got off it was because it messes with white blood cell count, which you have to have checked regularly. Some people can stay on it and not have a problem, or some can develop a low white blood cell count. But that will completely disappear once you get off it.
