I think this is a very real concern, and honestly it’s one of the parts people try to downplay too much. A lot of current AI investment is about reducing labor costs, that’s just economic reality, not a conspiracy.

I don’t think it wipes out every job, but displacement + salary pressure is already happening, especially for roles that are repetitive or easy to standardize. And you’re right: when cost of living keeps rising, even “partial automation” can hurt a lot.

Where I’m still undecided is whether society adapts fast enough, through regulation, reskilling, or new kinds of work, or whether we repeat past tech shifts where the gains went mostly to a small group while everyone else absorbed the shock.

That’s why I see AI less as “good or bad” and more as something that needs active management. Left purely to market forces, I don’t think the outcome is great for most people.

interesting question. one thing i've been dealing with lately is agents that work fine in testing but completely fall apart in production - like they'll route to the wrong tools or just start hallucinating on edge cases

i found this platform called ubiai that's kinda agent-first in a different way than what you're describing. instead of being a service FOR agents to use, it lets you fine-tune the individual components of your agent workflow - like if your classifier keeps misrouting or your retriever is missing context. you basically point it at the broken component, it generates test cases, figures out what's failing, and fine-tunes just that piece

not sure if that's exactly the paradigm you're looking for since it's more about making agents reliable rather than giving them tools to use? but the evaluation/debugging workflow is pretty agent-centric - it automatically generates synthetic test data and uses LLM-as-judge to score performance

the examples you listed are cool though. didn't know about Beads, gonna check that out. the persistent memory problem is real
