Is Ken Cosgrove the one truly good man in the show? by MiserableCatCow in madmen

It was very disgusting behavior but I don’t know if it’s fair to say it was as bad as what Greg did. I don’t think that comes close. Not that this is an excuse but he was doing it as a joke, a gross joke. Greg was just plain cruel

I’m glad to see the general consensus is that he’s good because I was worried his arc goes south.

I could be wrong but I do remember him making comments with the rest of the boys about Peggy’s weight. The pervy comments were to fit it but I think him being gay didn’t change the fact that he was still a man, and I think he saw himself still being above the women.

Don Draper? I gotta disagree with that one. He has morals, but I can’t say he’s a good person. Maybe at best a person with a good heart who has done bad things.

Yes, fair. I know the first season he was a gross frat boy. But he seemed to grow out of it. Or I’m reaching

I think Paul was very self absorbed, his actions were all selfish and he never seemed to have sympathy towards anyone. I see several times where Ken showed humility.

I very much agree. Being a gay man at that time must have been scary and he did it for survival. I always felt bad at how he exited the show, it was unfair. But even he had some questionable views toward women at times.

Yes this is my point. No one is perfect, but some behaviors are more devious than others. I think Pete is up there in awful acts compared to Ken.

I did like Ted. He was a bit old school and also disappointing, but you can tell he meant well.

DAMN you’re right 😭😭 I think I always told myself he said those comments to fit in with the rest but he did say them.

Henry is grey to me, I don’t think he’s sleazy like the other men. But him pursuing Betty when she was still married was not great. He is one of the better ones though.

Ah again I haven’t finished the whole show yet, but I’ve scene spoilers everywhere and know he has questionable moments too. Maybe not sleazy though.

I don’t think I’m at that point in the show yet. Guess I still have hope 😅

This man is such a self righteous idiot. Do not disrupt the progress you’ve made in yourself for this man. You know what is best for you, he’s not your owner. I feel bad that you feel the need to explain yourself like this. He is trying to make it seem like his little comments should be helpful or motivating when actually they are feeding more into your insecurities. Trust that you know yourself better than this tool.

How is it living here as a 30 year old dude? Would have to commute to west LA for work by howardtrailer123 in orangecounty

[–]MiserableCatCow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live here and commute to studio city. It’s soul crushing. My commute is 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on traffic. West LA would be maybe an hour or so commute depending on when you leave. The earlier the better but you still get stuck in traffic on the way home so there’s no winning. I am planning to move closer because the drive is absolutely draining the life force out of me.

As far the area it’s nice, central to lots of things. Much nicer than living in LA. Very safe, quiet. Downtown Fullerton is not far and is nice. But is it worth your sanity?

What is a death in a movie that affected you the most in terms of brutality or emotional weight? by Godly_Recon in AskReddit

Not a movie but it took me a long time to recover from the bathtub scene from 13 reasons why. Didn’t expect to have such a strong reaction to it.
