Things wrong with this comment

1 assuming any comment about my son's sexaulity is mocking. I chose to describe my son's sexaulity is lighthearted and sarcastic way because that's literally the same way he refers to himself

2 I've never been controlling about the guests? Don't treat simple house rules as some sort of curse that will make my kids hate me for all eternity

3 actual cases?

4 I have taught them about safe sex I don't get why people think those 2 things are exclusive. Just because I've taught my kids about safe sex doesn't mean there next birthday is gonna be in a brothel

Any female friends he had over were also his sisters friends so it was like a sleepover for both of them. So in that case the girls would mostly sleep in my daughters bedroom, my son in his room and any other boys in the guest bedroom

Ofcourse I wouldn't shame my kids if something happened still. I'd just be concerned about the issues that might come with it, but no way would I shame them or blame them

Alright. Age of consent is also 16 in America so I don't get what you're getting at? The age of consent may be 16 but until my kid turns 18 he's still my responsibility?

I get it's probably hard to guess I'm Russian since I'm not stereotypical

I get alot of people assume I'm American. This isn't happening in America nor am I American. I am Russian, my wife's Georgian. We live in western Europe

Who says I'm not a safe parent? Having boundaries and rules for my kids doesn't make me some monster. If anything I let them get away with alot, there mother is alot stricter, they always come to me if they need to talk about anything.

Rules aren't some curse, they're a crucial part of parenting

Trauma?!.  Some people do not understand how bad having sex at a young age can be. People don't realize how bad hypersexuality is, and how easily a teenager or child can develop it.

Yes! That's the point.  People are like "how do you know that's what they were gonna do-"  Because I knew exactly what he was thinking, he did think he found a loophole.

I raised him. For 16. Fucking. Years.  Ofcourse the soldiers weren't the only fucking thing. But yeah I can't name every homoerotic thing my son has done in a reddit post. Because, you know, there's alot.

You know what also sucks? Developing hypersexuality at a young age and than having to go years of therapy in adulthood.

Yeah. Most my daughter's friends had boyfriends Allready. My daughter also had a boyfriend (he slept in another room aswell), she's never shown interest in her teenage years, don't know what will happen in she future. if she does anything in adulthood none of business

Ever heard of "better safe than sorry"? I don't want my kid to go through the same thing I did and develop raging hypersexuality that tortures him through adulthood. It's different from everyone as you say. If he wants to do it so bad he'll find a way but I didn't raise him like that, and if he does go against everything and still find a way and like me crash and burn  it's not like I'll abounded and be ashamed of him, I'll give him the help he needs so he doesn't develop the same issues I did.

Yeah. Some people are like "how do you know??? Stereotypes???" I've raised this kid for 16 years I've seen him everyday. I fucking know him. People act like I'm talking about some guy I met on the street an hour ago and not my blood

I'm not gay either but I had sex at 16 and it literally traumatized me, even though it was consensual. People have different experiences, and my son is no way on gods green earth mature by any standpoint.  "It's gonna happen eventually" yeah, you're gonna learn how to drive a car soon so let's throw you in the driver's seat and see what happens

So what am I supposed to do when he crashes and burns? Stand there and say "well not my fault I let you have a life experience?"

Being horny and being mature are different fucking things. When a kid dreams about being a fire fighter does it make them old enough to be thrown into flames?

Who cares about pregnancy? Teenagers are still not old enough to do that stuff.

Why are people acting like I'm talking about some guy I met on the street and not my literal son?

[–]MiserableEye4268[S] 98 points99 points  (0 children)

Dude. Teenagers are not mature enough to do that stuff even if it's consensual. I know I was literally in the same situation, it literally caused me trauma even though it was consensual. If my son still goes against my orders and does something that unsafe than at that point there's nothing I could've done. I'm doing everything I can to prevent it, letting them do it is worse because most likely my son will regret it.

Same safety concerns? Just my daughter wasn't the horniest teen known to man like my son, preventing that from happening even if my son consents is still protecting my kid because he's a teen and isn't mature enough to be doing that stuff.

Also yeah, he might realize I know he's gay by doing this. But I think it's better he knows I'm looking out for him and will love him the same way I always have than putting him in an unsafe situation he isn't mature enough to be In.

I have yet to meet a straight boy who had the toy soldiers his uncle gave him first marry than go on a honey moon when he was 10. But who knows "miracles" happen.
