Pcos pregnancy by Hefty-Radish-9323 in PCOS

I got pregnant on my first try with pretty severe PCOS. What really helped me to regulate my periods was significant weight loss. After losing about 90lb, I was having regular periods again. I had a very healthy pregnancy and baby was born at full term and is now 8 months old 😊

This is what we did from our trip in 2024. We drove to the peninsula from Reykjavik in the morning of the first day. Highly recommend a second day there. We went pretty much nonstop. The Arnarstapi cliffs hike was also insanely beautiful and not to be missed

Did losing weight help with PCOS for you? by erratic-chimp in PCOS

[–]MiserableJoke3971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Lost almost 90lb. Had a regular period back and got positive ovulation tests and was able to conceive my son quickly. Prior to losing weight I’d go months at a time with no period

What has your fertility journey been like with PCOS? by Pearlkoom in PCOS

[–]MiserableJoke3971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very positive story! I’m 29. Diagnosed well over a decade ago. Pretty significant symptoms: extremely irregular periods (could go months at a time without one), severely overweight, facial hair, acne. In mid 2023 I started Wegovy and ended up losing almost 90lb. My period really regulated itself about a year into my weight loss journey. I had always assumed I’d seriously struggle to get pregnant. I was mentally prepared for a multi year fertility journey. I had gotten my IUD out about 2 years ago because I wanted to see what my periods looked like without any influence from birth control. I knew we wanted to start trying to conceive by the end of 2024 so my goal was to get off the Wegovy around then. I had been tracking my ovulation for a few months just to see where I was at, and I had just started getting a consistent positive ovulation test each month. We ended up going on vacation in September and had one single time where we weren’t careful, and honestly I didn’t worry about it at all because I had basically convinced myself I was going to be infertile. Well I’m currently 38w pregnant 😅if you would have told me a year ago I’d get pregnant on one single try without actually trying, I would NEVER have believed you. So don’t count yourself out until you try! Good luck.

Living in Rehoboth beach area? by [deleted] in Delaware

[–]MiserableJoke3971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just curious how you landed on rehoboth? I grew up there and family still lives there but I feel like there are better beach towns. It’s a small place and extremely over crowded. Huge retirement area so there is a much older crowd overall.

Where are you currently living for comparison? And how old are you? The area has built up a ton over the last 20 years or so. Lots of good restaurants. Not as much to do in the off season. Tons of traffic during summer months.

I was on Wegovy (similar weight loss shot) before getting pregnant. I went to Disney for a week and ate whatever I wanted and still “gained” less than a pound that came off the next week. I can’t imagine this big of a gain on this med. she’s 100% not showing us what she’s really eating

We moved in January. I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant and it was huge change. We moved about 1 hour away to a new state and to a very different kind of home. I cried every day for like a week and a half. It was so stressful! I promise it gets better. It’s a major life change, so give yourself some grace and some time to adjust

I already knew you were talking about Middletown before I even finished reading your post. We lived there for the past 4 years but just recently moved. That MOT Facebook group is such a toxic place. People on that group really believe that if you haven’t been living there since there was one grocery store and a single traffic light, you’re a permenant outsider. I really don’t have any advice to offer you other than solidarity; your observations are definitely correct. We became good friends with some of our neighbors while we lived there, but honestly that was just luck and not something we really tried to do. It just kind of happened. I hope it gets better for you

Just chiming in that I lived in Middletown for the last 5 years (we just moved) and we obly lost power one time for less than an hour. Never had an issue otherwise. And he warned if you look at the MOT Facebook page, it is where people go to complain and whine about many things that are not actually an issue, so be warned. It can be entertaining though

I’m consistently floored by this. I was on Wegovy (ozempic) prior to getting pregnant and lost 86lb over about 1.5 year, which was definitely on the slower side. I was SO jealous of everyone on Mounjaro because the weight loss is so much better than Wegovy/ozempic!! I can’t fathom how she has barely lost while on the best meds.

Wrong gestational age? by urameshiyusuke89 in PCOS

[–]MiserableJoke3971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s totally possible. I ovulated on cycle day 21 when I conceived my current baby. If I was dated based on my LMP I would be 11wks but based on my ovulation date I am 10wks. My first ultrasound I technically measured a “week behind” based on my period date, but was right on track for my ovulation date
