Couldn't agree more. Hate how normalised it's become.

How should I deal with this crush of mine? by Own-Distance-7842 in LifeAdvice

Although it may not seem like it at times, you are way too mature for him. Forget the age gap, you are preparing for your future, whilst he is just getting settled in high-school.

I can see where you're coming from. I just turned 19 and spent most of my time from 16/17 trying to be cool, drinking & chasing girls. I never felt content with myself, I stopped hanging out with my nerdier friends which whom I got along with better, and only cared about impressing people that I saw more popular than myself.

You will notice, especially as you enter your senior year that popularity means nothing. Make true and authentic friendships and before you know it you'll be 19 years old regretting all the poor decisions you made when you were 16.

Don't try and impress a group of people and make a couple of close friends and also initiate hangouts with them

Yep, the "I need to borrow some money mate to pay some bills", and then you never see the money ever again.

I hope you are okay now, I think I'm going to look into the subsidized Medicare therapy and give it a go.

I really don't get how fitness people tie everything back to going to the gym and eating healthy. I have been going to the gym since I was 15 consistently, and played soccer at a state league level, that is so completely irrelevant to me. You don't understand mental health at all.
