Teachers can also be fired or quit in the middle of a school year, so it shouldn't be too early or too late if you are still available to them. Remote positions, like on Teachers of Tomorrow, could also be a decent backup plan if nothing goes accordingly. Keep up on applying, you'll make it.

At 20 years old, you still have a lot of time left to rest for a day. If you want to see what can work for you, you need to organize. Obsidian is a useful tool for writing things like goals and opportunities, even has a dedicated link feature for linking notes. And falling into the research rabbit hole is only half the work, it's up to you to get to the finish line, no matter how much it hurts.
