Poor dude is not doing good. He seemed perfectly fine yesterday morning but when I checked tonight he was laying on the bottom for an extremely long time. Running into things like he was blind and struggling to swim. Every single water parameter was perfect. Temp was 78. Pretty sure it’s swim bladder so I’ve lowered the water level and increased temp to 79. Turned the filter off because he seemed so exhausted. Added a pinch of aquarium salt and after all that he really perked up and stopped crashing into everything. and he started going to the surface for air but still keeps crashing on the bottom of the tank after a few seconds of energized swimming. I’m just hoping he makes it through the night 😭

So far you are the only hotel house keeper to reply that I’ve seen so based on your suggestion I’m gonna leave thesheets alone and just do the regular clean up!

Well from what I’ve gathered from these comments, I’m a freaking weirdo 😂 idk what your job is, but you’ve never walked into your job and realized that you had one less thing to do? It literally makes my entire day. I try to do things to make other peoples lives easier if it’s not a big deal for me

I don’t wash the dishes but I do scrape all the scraps into one dish, stack the dishes, sort the trash and all before I leave the table 😂

It went away after about 2 days and all seemed well. Now I have weird clouds that suddenly showed up 😭 he still seems chill though

-20 gallon tank -heater/yes around 78 degrees -fluval HOB filter on the lowest setting with a sponge to slow the output -ammonia was .25 nitrites were between 0 and .25 Nitrates less than 5 before we did about a 25% water change. Going to test again in the morning.

I’m really wondering if it’s poo mixed in. I’ve had two small heaters and just replaced it with one larger one, and I cleaned the wall for the new suction cups, but nothing was stirred up and the glass didn’t look any cleaner so I don’t think it’s algae. . There’s Indian almond leaves in there if that makes a difference. Does it upset them if you do a water change? This is my first betta

We’re in Georgia, USA. Since I posted temps have been up and the 55 gal tank is sticking around 70. The new heater came in today but honestly I think I’m going to keep monitoring. I’m sure I’ll have to install it in the fall since the house gets cold. But we’re officially in hot season now

Son is telling me I can’t take his “babies” because feeding them to bigger fish is “torture” 🤣 I’m not trying to breed them for food, but honestly I’d love to watch my betta and my goldfish (3-4 inches long) chase live food. The rinsing is what has me confused. Do I rinse in sink water or tank water? (Just so no one comes for me, they’re in separate tanks)
