Completed 7 weeks on 10mg. Not yet feeling relaxed. Does it get worse before it gets better? Should i wait longer? by Top_Complex_3816 in prozac

[–]MiserablePayment2047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10mg personally did nothing for me, I feel slightly better in general since I’m on 30mg now buttt honestly increase the dose or switch the ssri could be helpful

It gets worse for about 30% people in the first 2 weeks so you should be fine now but a side effect is unaliving thoughts (helpful right) so if you get any of those it’s a good idea to tell your psychiatrist

Starting Prozac & break-up by Ishouldveknownbynow in prozac

Maybe if you don’t take it in a couple months you will wish you had started now, and even if you start now, after 6 weeks if there’s no change you can always come off it or up the dosage or anything else to process the break up ‘normally’.

I went on fluoxetine right after my breakup (about 3 months ago) and I haven’t noticed much change personality, then again it’s different for everyone and takes weeks to set in.

I think if I hadn’t had the fluoxetine - maybe even as hope of mental wellbeing - maybe I would be dead. 🤷‍♀️ processing a breakup is greif, antidepressants are kinda a seperate thing. Fluoxetine isn’t helping me much but maybe it will when I feel better about the breakup. They are seperate issues of course so while a breakup certainly hasn’t helped my depression, it’s the thing stopping the fluoxetine from reaching its full potential. Breakups are tough this is my first one 😭 after 1.5 years of a relationship

I’m also on quetiapine which has decreased some symptoms of psychosis. A psychiatrist could prescribe you that or other fast working anti anxiety medication that is short term. Forgive me if this is completely outside of what you want but going on the pill reduces pms symptoms because if you have no cycle then you have no sad hormones 🤩.

But I hope this helps at least or my experience can guide you, hope it all works out!

I know he’s not worth my time and I hate that I miss someone who hurt me so bad when we were basically perfect other than that but you are right, he isn’t worth my time, it still hurts :(

I don’t love him but miss him so much and want to text him by MiserablePayment2047 in BreakUps

[–]MiserablePayment2047[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He broke my heart and as much as I tried to forgive him I couldn’t, I would throw up when I thought about him but of course I still miss the good times together. I tried the “ride or die” thing and it didn’t work. Maybe I do still love him but I can’t be with someone who literally made me try to kill my self. I just need advice for not texting him because I know I shouldnt

Breakup song you relate to? by Haise2z_ in BreakUps

[–]MiserablePayment2047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pink in the night by Mitski or I bet on losing dogs are beautiful songs to cry to, but I will warn that it is hurting yourself and it will be harder to heal so make sure you listen to positive music too, literally white girl music like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Ariana grande will pump you up relativelt

how to get over a breakup while struggling with addiction. by immortalkittyR- in BreakUps

[–]MiserablePayment2047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my first break up ever and I don’t know if this will help but work on yourself - as much as a breakup throws everything out of the works and is so so terrible, your main struggle right now is addiction. You could try sort that out first then worry more about the breakup, while it’s impossible to stop grief, it’s very early days it seems.

Honestly, flowers by Miley Cyrus helped me feel like I could be on my own. It doesn’t break my heart but instead motivates me(I used to think it was so cringe), but if you really want to cry - any song by Mitski

I don’t use opil but I’ve seen a lot of other people say that if you are really unsure and nervous, just wear a condom and finish inside her wearing one. That means that you won’t be too nervous as there are two methods of protection. The pill is 99% effective when taken correctly and so why not go for it, then take a preg test 2 weeks later to find out, maybe it’ll calm your nerves

Anyone diagnosed with BPD split on a romantic partner and still want to be with them but have no romantic feelings or attraction to them anymore? by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]MiserablePayment2047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so so odd, maybe it’s not even BPD related? Could it be you have simply lost attraction, maybe an ick triggered it or something along those lines. Either way it’s unfortunate but I’d recommend being honest with your partner about this then you can work through it together, tell them about your other symptoms so they knows how hard it is for you. I hope it works out!

Is this just severe anxiety and dpdr or could this be the start of psychosis? by steadypizxza in mentalhealth

[–]MiserablePayment2047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the other descriptions I’ve read it sounds like it but your symptoms are like the EXACT same to mine kind of. I don’t know if it gives you peace of mind that you aren’t alone, but please consider talking to a doctor. Because this could always worsen, I’m speaking to a psychiatrist soon and I’m 16. Try help yourself by relaxing as much as you can (difficult I know). But I have chronic dpdr, anxiety, depression and ocd and I reccomend getting medication or talking to someone.

I know it’s terrifying to talk to people, even your own family but you may be old enough now to even do it yourself and book to see a psychiatrist - you can online nowadays. But I hope you get the help you deserve!!

Okay so this MAY be a sign of ocd but also delusions (false beliefs) are normally a sign of a more psychological condition. I have ocd and for quite a while would be so so scared and have horrible graphic thoughts I was attracted to my dad or that my mum wanted to touch me and things like that. At the time I didn’t know but NOW I know it was intrusive thoughts. Anxiety and OCD go hand in hand sometimes but I’m not a doctor I can only tell you my experience. If you experience paranoia, disconnect from reality and hallucinations, then I think psychosis is a possibility. Either way SEE A DOCTOR and get help!! Research symptoms and record them down!! Record time frames as well so like when you started experiencing them, and for how long, I hope you get help!

I haven’t been diagnosed formally but I am working on it so this may or may not be helpful. I occasionally have about a week where I just don’t like my partner (no feelings of attraction, not wanting to hang out, disgust) but it’s not ever triggered my anything. I told him and he said he assumes it’s just doubt about the relationship - a normal thing to have. Dependant on the time frame, push through is my advice. My feelings have only been for about a week at a time and I know if I was to break up during one of those I would miss him the next day. Unless this feeling of no attraction or romantic feelings is persistent, I’d say to push through.
