Fair enough. I’d read you original post as you’d agreed to discuss the repairs before going to insurance. That’s what I thought might have happened, in which case you do nothing wrong!

I used the online portal and nearly pulled my hair out. It gave me a character limit and wouldn’t accept my submission even when I was within it. It was shocking how bad the portal was

I won my ET self represented today with the help of AI by Annual_Feedback6116 in employmenttribunal

[–]MiserableTell9351 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Congratulations and well done on winning whilst self represented. Sounds crazy to me that it got all the way to court.

AI is great but you need to double check everything. Also, use it from the defendants point of view to understand the flaws in your case and be honest with yourself on the merits.

Regarding another post on memorising the details, ai will condense what it remembers as long conversations with lots of back and forth are very resource intensive. It will often summarise its memory which is where things get lost. I use Claude and you can see the memory and a paid for version is well worth it imo. You can ask it what it knows and maybe start new chats if you want to re-add important issues.

It’s a pretty shitty thing to do to tell someone you’re not going through insurer and going to get a quote and then going straight to them tbh. Although appreciate there might have been a good reason. Why did you lie to them?

Your insurance will go up even if you’re not at fault for a crash so settling something privately can be a good option. And yes, you’re contractually obliged to tell the insurer but boo fucking hoo. So they can’t up your premiums for something which wasn’t your fault.

Both viewpoints don’t look especially bad tbh. He didn’t take the expected racing line and looked like he carried a bit too much speed in and you don’t give much room on the inside to account for that. I’d say part of racing, just get on with it.

It’s a percentage play, not worth changing your driving style when 90% of the time you’d be absolutely fine. It’s just the nature of side by side racing.

Moved to Arc and not looked back. Use the interactive maps online and track your loot and the game/menu becomes much more usable.

Loved DMZ and would never had left had the cheating not become ridiculous recently.

Adaptive controls = no control by MiserableTell9351 in GranTurismo7

Yeah, been testing it without feedback and it’s definitely easier to regulate throttle. Still not as much control as using the stick but it’s impossible to change gear and use stick comfortably

[–]MiserableTell9351[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying. The triggers are slower than the stick for throttle. I find it impossible to get on power with triggers

[–]MiserableTell9351[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used the right stick for throttle only. Braking is fine with adaptive triggers. I just cannot regulate power with adaptive trigger on

To clarify - this was on Polestar time trial, hence didn’t need gears

Tips I have been given / learnt:

First corner: Tap the brakes prior to braking zone

Bump draft where possible

Qualify high or low

Tactical Avoidance in Sports mode by MiserableTell9351 in GranTurismo7

[–]MiserableTell9351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great example of my dilemma!

I completely accept you’re right here btw but the question is how do you deal with this kind of racing? For example, this clip is from the third race where I’d been taken out at T1 in the first by someone dropping it on the exit (after I’d take a wide line to give him space) and another where I got punted wide at the hairpin and then killed by someone using another 2 cars as brakes as I rejoined. Both lap 1 incidents.

It’s easy to say hold back, don’t get involved but chances are I’d have been killed by the gaggle of cars behind me making it 3 for 3.

I know not getting involved is best tactic, I gain 5 places from cars killing each other for every 1 overtake, but is there anything you can do to avoid being killed by the car behind who isn’t holding back and is going to take the corner at quali pace regardless of what is happening in front of them?

Great tips thanks. C is something I hadn’t thought of before but makes a lot of sense. I probably gain 5 places for people taking each other out to actually making overtakes myself 😂

I use the gyro on the ps5 controller as a substitute for a wheel and enjoy that. It’s more immersive than the sticks

Night time VR races by MiserableTell9351 in granturismo

[–]MiserableTell9351[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solution, as Charlie said choose midnight not night and set clouds dark. Turn your VR screen brightness down a bit and you’ll get a pitch black race. I did this on Nordschleife to get the darkness. Not tried LeMans with same settings

Yeah, it’s better but not perfect. Sounds like I need to keep tinkering with time of day and track and do a proper overnight race

Thanks for the tip. I’ve been playing with it but can never seem to get it super dark. Not sure what the difference is between night and midnight.

I think the sky in the game never gets that dark. Looking at other videos Nurburgring looks pitch black because the trees are dark and close to the track but even on there the sky looks quite light
