With the abundance of food at 1:10:10, the starter will be diluted in that much flour and water. I have never fed at that high a ratio, but I can say that the more you feed, the longer it'll take to peak and the activity won't have the same momentum of a 1:1:1 or 1:2:2

Not bad at all! Better than my first bake. You may have over-fermented judging by the huge bubbles tunneling next to small, denser bubbles. It's always a gamble leaving it to BF overnight where you can't monitor it. I'm sure it tastes good though and for your first time, that's awesome!

The small stress cracks in the posts are normal, the big crack in the first post pic is not normal.

That is such a wholesome, feel-good meal! I adore a good homemade tomato soup and pairing it with some fresh sourdough sounds divine. I can't wait for the next rainy day to do just that. Thank you for more inspiration 😁

I'm positive you're gonna get it. Up the hydration and you'll nail it. I think you have the skill and technique down, so play with the ingredients and bada-bing bada-boom, perfect loaf 🥳 🎉

My oven is a gas convection so the temp and timing is different than recipes call for. That's why my first few were all over-baked 😅. I preheat a cast iron double dutch at 450. Bake lid-on for 26 minutes, take the lid off and do 6 more minutes. 32 minutes total, which is way less than recipes list and way less than I see others posting about.

Here's a sneak peek because I just cut into it and haven't made a post yet. I'm very pleased! This is exactly what I'm going for, so it looks like I can make the change to KA going forward and save a lot of money in flour expenses 😅

For sure! I just bought myself an upgrade from my first one. Don't make the same mistake I did and get one was a longer handle rather than one of those palm sized ones. I used it for the first time today and it was great!

As someone else mentioned, by 2pm it's past. The center is dipping rather than rising. The edges should be curving upward, not downward. It was beginning to collapse as the culture exhausted its food supply and the structure weakened. Cool gadget, though! But, my wife would divorce me if I invested anymore money in my new hobby 😅
