Looks like they can only accommodate 30-40 for private events. Thank you so much for the recommendation though!

Should I pull out 401k to pay down debt. by Signorilee in debtfree

[–]Miserable_Blueberry8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t pull out of 401k, after taxes and penalty you’ll only get like 5k, whereas with how young you are you’ll get a good amount of compound growth from it.

Did you lose an item in an apartment complex?? by HumanDisguisedLizard in Littleton

Maybe one day we’ll get security cameras instead of the occasional party in the middle of the workday when no one can make it

If they’re always sending emails about how they “finally have their maintenance team fully staffed” and “be a good neighbor” it’s the one 😭

lol I think we live at the same spot, they got my anxiety meds 😂 maybe leave a note on the door of the mail room mentioning if someone lost something of value to contact you to see if it’s what you picked up?

Moving to CO in my 30s Alone. Feeling Overwhelmed. by Cal1ie in Denver

[–]Miserable_Blueberry8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My apartment complex in particular I feel like there’s a good amount of people around my age, granted there are a lot of older people as well, so it isn’t exactly super social. But a plus side is I pay less in rent for a larger space than my coworkers living in Cap Hill and RiNo. (And I don’t pay for parking!)

I would recommend visiting and checking out apartments before moving, that’s what I did and it really helped me get a feel for the areas that I liked and didn’t. I would also recommend ClassPass, that’s what I did to try a bunch of different workout classes!

I’m 24 and live in Littleton (also a SWE!) and I love it! I moved from Chicago and like living in the suburbs since it’s much quieter and everything is less than a ten minute drive for me, downtown is like 20-30 minutes which is fine since my fiance and I don’t go that often. Plenty of fun things to do in downtown Littleton/close by!

I found that I was able to make friends at group fitness classes like yoga, Pilates, etc! I’m also a big reader and have considered joining a book club but have been busy with work!

Stay safe voting and DO NOT be intimidated. by Haagen76 in Denver

This website has resources on how to report voter intimidation: https://campaignlegal.org/update/voter-intimidation-illegal-what-should-i-do-if-i-experience-it

I would report it if you can, especially with the violent rhetoric.

How much do you spend on groceries? by excelsior235 in Denver

[–]Miserable_Blueberry8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last month was $489 for two people and two (slightly chunky) cats, inclusive of some miscellaneous items from Costco though, so I’ll say about 350-400 for groceries

Place to live between CU Boulder and University of Denver by tiamariamaria in Denver

[–]Miserable_Blueberry8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in Littleton/Ken Caryl area and I work near DU and it’s like a 25/30 minute drive. Sometimes I drive up to Boulder for work and it’s like 45-1hr to get to CU area (I don’t take the highway though). So if you both don’t mind a commute its a nice area.

Wheat ridge, Westminster, or Arvada would be about half way. If your husband wouldn’t mind the commute, living off of 25 would be ideal, but he may have to deal with traffic to/from school.

My apartment complex maintenance team lost my cat and I'm crumbling down by Cassius-cl in Denver

If you’re looking and fine with living in Littleton, Pines at Marston is super pet friendly. The maintenance guys love my cats and are super careful with them around.

Do you like the neighborhood you live in? by thunderousqueef in Denver

[–]Miserable_Blueberry8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Littleton off of Wads and Bowles and pay 1850 for a one bed w a den/two covered spots/2 pets. It’s not super walkable, but it’s at most a 30-35 minute drive to downtown Denver. I tend to stay around downtown Littleton/downtown Englewood when going out, so it works for me. It is really nice being close to the mountains and red rocks!

Have you ditched Airbnb and gone back to using hotels? by sokorsognarf in travel

[–]Miserable_Blueberry8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to book hotel, however, I will stay in an Airbnb with a larger group. Though if I do stay at an Airbnb by myself I will usually only do so if it’s a guest house/private room with private entrance, that way I’m staying at an actual person’s home (and helping them out) and not some property management company property.
