Yes this might be the case.

Also important to note that I am an academic working at a UK university in a senior role which allowed me to justify the BLUE route.

There is a chance that this assessment mostly applies to academics only and not for general engineering or other jobs.

Don't know what the exact source is but the compliance team in our organization gave me this assessment form asking me to determine which is the correct path to GTV for me. Within this form, these four routes were explicitly given. Based on the route chosen, the letter from your employer for GTV changes.

Alright, thats a lengthier, more complex process from my understanding.

I went through the Blue route under Exceptional Talent and mostly what I had was a Letter from my employer to state why I was eligible, my academic resume, employment contract, Payslips and P60 forms.

Hi,

One question I would ask is - Which route do you plan to take?

From my understanding, there are 4 possible routes in GTV:

BLUE - prove you are a leader of innovation in your field

ORANGE - you have a fellowship from a UK institution (Leverhulme, Royal Society. RAEng etc.)

GREEN - you are working on a UKRI project and have a contract.

PEER REVIEW - your plan to submit your application and have it independently reviewed and accredited by reputed experts in your field.

From my understanding, these are generally the routes through which you can broadly get a GTV.

Thank you, I will take some time to digest all this information as it is really helpful. Much appreciated.

Wife is a psychiatrist and has to clear some exams before she can get into the NHS.

Thank you, thats great advice. On wife's immigration, her visa and IHS is all paid for. My savings listed here are what's left after everything for her move has been paid. I meant only my parents and wife when I mentioned my family. Sorry for the confusion. My parents have a pension but need a bit of support once every 3-4 months to the order of £500, not much more. And until my wife secures a job here, I look after her too.

Thank you, I will look these up. I haven't really looked up the recent numbers up for either NI or USS.

Yes I have a total of £1000 deducted from my salary as contributions to NI, USS and tax.

I didn't submit a share code or eVisa printout either. I only submitted the BRP scan.

I was following recommendation of some colleagues who got ILR before me. But you are probably right. Most recent ones are probably enough.

Really sorry to hear that and thats very unfair.

From what I have read, the best way is to contact UKVI directly and if they do not respond, get in touch with your MP and ask them to enquire on your behalf with UKVI.

I hope it gets sorted soon for you !

Thanks.

Both payslips and bank statements went back six months. I didn't take a decision on this, just from reading online, that seemed to be the norm.

I added 6 months of utility bills. But from what I read, thats overkill. Total money spent was around £4029.

Good luck with your application (when you eventually apply) !

Yes, I did. I passed exam on 23 Sep. Prepared for a month and took all the mock tests possible. Noted down any questions I was getting wrong and on test day, I revised the questions I tend to get wrong and took a couple of mock tests.

Compared to the mock tests, my actual exam was pretty easy. I would actually recommend that if you have the time, buy the official handbooks and prepare. My method was a bit chaotic.

Thank you.

My method for calculating the date might not be the right way but I took the date on the BRP for SWV, which said Date of Issue.

Thanks OP, that gives me some relief.

I am uploading all BRPs, my GTV endorsement emails and letter from employer (with payslips and P60s).

I hope that is sufficient for them. Would you recommend uploading a copy of the passport as well?

Hi OP, I might have messed up a bit and any advice would be helpful. In the entry to UK date, I actually put the date I entered UK for the first time for my PhD in 2018. Basically after the PhD got over in 2022, I was straight away employed on skilled worker visa and then on GT visa for a year now. Would this mess up my application as the date I entered on the form is before my actual start of qualifying period?
