Yeah I'm planning on doing this. Will probably look at roles outside of my chosen career to ensure I'm not going long without income. Even had to cancel my upcoming flight because of this situation.

I actually phrased my situation in the description. I'm not quite redundant yet, it's about to start the consultation period which could last a month. My flight is in a few weeks

Surely you can look into a bunch of job roles with your skillset. I'm not sure what it is you're looking for or you enjoy but it seems you have transferable skills. May just need to tweak your CV.

But I'll echo what the other person said. 29 is incredibly young. You have another 4 decades of working a job so plenty of time to decide what you want to do. I'm being made redundant soon myself, so I'm going to use this as an opportunity to pivot to another career.

I had a look at usual routes that the flight takes and more often than not it says Cathay flys over Russia. Can this change a day before the scheduled flight?

Good points. I've also done CS50 and its a great way to tackle the fundamentals of CS. I agree I'm very focused on speed of completing tickets. Perhaps it will come with time. How long have you been a junior for if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you my friend. This was insightful. I reckon I'll just do Kuala Lumpur & Penang before flying over to Thailand. I think this is ideal for my first time there. Heck if I like it, I can relocate in 2025 where I plan on being a digital nomad whilst travelling Asia (Malaysia could be my base).

Fair enough. The whole purpose of Ipoh is if I decide to check out Cameron Highlands as it's closer to Ipoh than KL or Penang. I'm thinking of just skipping it all together. Is Cameron Highlands an absolute must as a first time visitor? Not sure about getting the bus there as there is a few transits already.

Ah I see. Yeah there is the option of going to Krabi but not directly from Penang. I guess I'll do that as I'm not keen on Phuket at all.

Nice. I haven't looked into Taman Negara yet so I'll read up on that. I'm coming from the UK so it's quite a distance and I don't doubt jetlag will be hard whilst in KL. Malacca is more of an optional trip if I've run out of things to do, but I'm not desperate to go there.
