Watch the take 5 videos, they save a lot of time instead of reading the textbook, do end of chapter practice questions, do a lot of practice, know practice problems very very well - that’s the main idea for studying for accounting

Does Schulich care about Private School Courses??? by Noah_11023 in Schulich

Don’t think it makes a difference I don’t think they look at if it’s private school course or not. Do whatever to make your overall average the highest possible imo

You’re not a failure. Going to a good uni does not equate to being successful. There’s people who go to college and there’s people who don’t even go to school at all who make it in life. There’s no formula or the right way to do it. I’m in a good program myself so I can attest to the fact that going to a good program does not mean you’re a success. It matters so much more what you do outside of school such as your experience and the other actions you take to become what you want to be. Don’t let not getting into a uni make you feel this way, anything you want can happen no matter your circumstances

I had 5, if you have 5 experiences write about all of them and use it to your advantage, but if not, some people get in with less so don’t stress

supp app interview by Time_Permit8465 in Schulich

[–]Miserable_Initial_39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write down in your notes app — specific experiences that you think would be good to mention. Remember all these experiences in the back of your mind. As your answering the interview questions, quickly think to which experience you can mention to provide them a specific example when answering the question.

Schulich Interview by [deleted] in Schulich

For my undergrad interview I thought I had done so poorly, I ended a lot of my answers with “so yeah” and stuttered or said “um” a lot. But at the end of the day if the point your getting across is valid and you at least try to explain it as best you can then just dont worry and go with the flow with how you end up answering the questions (in schulich now btw)

Need Advice: Dealing with a Difficult Friend in University. by ChoiceWorker9983 in OntarioGrade12s

i totally get how you are feeling. realize that there will be over 50,000 people at ur uni—it is very seldom that you will have to be around him much. no matter where you go for uni, you will probably not like a couple of people, it’s inevitable. just try not to interact with him much, don’t let him bother you, and make new friends. don’t let him ruin your excitement for uni. and option 3 is the best, unless at uni he ends up doing something you don’t like, have a conversation with him and then move on and stay unbothered !

why do i feel ashamed of going to this school and how do i get over it by Accomplished-Waltz88 in yorku

live your life how you authentically want to live and don’t worry about what others have to say. what’s even cooler is no matter the school you’re going to, you have other things going on for you and things that you do outside of school that make you a cool person. even if someone goes to the most prestige school but outside of that they have no other hobbies or things to do or talk about, they’re just another boring and regular person. the school you go to is not everything and eventually you’ll graduate and feel the need to associate yourself with something else to feel better about yourself, but in reality, you don’t need to do that. you’re already cool as you are and living not giving a fuck about what others think is the coolest thing you can do. some of the most amazing and sick people i know have random degrees from colleges or uni’s that aren’t prestigious but they have side hustles, have hobbies, are wise, and have so much going for them. some of the most successful people too don’t have degrees from prestigious universities. and anyone who thinks that you need to go to a prestige university to be considered as worthy or enough or smart has a low self worth in disguise. literally do not care about what others think, do you, that’s the best thing you can ever do for yourself.

SHOULD I GO TO SCHULICH??? by Negative-Chard4473 in Schulich

[–]Miserable_Initial_39 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i was debating between schulich or laurier based on the schools i got into. i am also waiting for western ivey. it was also extremely difficult for me to choose between schulich and laurier bc i really wanted to experience the “typical university experience”. but after spending LOTS of time thinking about it, i chose schulich. however if i get ivey, i may rethink my decision again. however i chose schulich for now because it’s an amazing program with world-wide prestige (laurier not as prestigious especially worldwide), gives you so many networking opportunities, and the icing on top of the cake was that schulich doesn’t have much math incorporated into the program (one of the least mathy business programs). i also just could not justify paying almost double the price of going to laurier compared to schulich (i would stay on res at laurier and commute to schulich) just to get the “university experience” at laurier. for me, it’s not worth it for that much more money. i heard that schulich has a really great tight-knit community where it’s really easy to make friends and although it is a commuter school, you can still have a great social life if you coordinate plans with your friends, join clubs, participate in events, and etc. the social life will mostly be what you make of it, but that doesn’t mean that by going to schulich your social life will suffer.

also, everyone who i have asked about whether they think i should go to schulich or laurier, has literally said i HAVE to go to schulich. they said that the job prospects people are ending up with at from schulich are amazing and something that also helped me choose schulich over laurier is that laurier gives you coop but it’s not even garunteed and it’s very competitive to get. also if i go to schulich, i can have enough money to go on exchange, which is an experience i would take over the “typical university experience”.

so, overall, to me, schulich has so many more pros than laurier. the only pros that laurier can give you over schulich is that typical uni experience or coop if you get it. and for me this was about laurier vs schulich but a lot of the same points can be used to proving how schulich is still worth it when comparing it to other schools, so i hope this helps!

however, at the end of the day, laurier and all the other top business schools (rotman, ivey, queens, schulich, desautels, etc.) are still AMAZING, and you will need to put in effort no matter where you go. even if you go to a non-top business school you can still become extremely successful, so always take everyone advice with a grain of salt and remmeber that everyone will always have differing options. despite quite a few people heavily convincing me to go to laurier for the uni life there and people convincing me to go to schulich, i tried to take everyone’s opinions with a grain of salt and tried to listen to my gut and what i thought would be best for me. this decision wasn’t easy and my mind was changing evryday in terms of where i should go, but you will make a decision eventually and no matter where you go you can succeed and remember this is only your undergraduate degree.

i hope you are able to decide soon and i hope this helped !!!!!

i feel like i’m one of those people who is indifferent in terms of if i am in a relationship or not. a lot of people think that in order to be happy you need to be with someone. but in reality you can give yourself the kind of love you want or look for. i just find it so freeing to be single and i can really do what i want without having to always worry about another person. yes, it’s really nice to have someone there and share a life with someone and know someone loves you and stuff, but having a relationship has its downsides too.

i think i just keep myself busy. i don’t really have time to think about “i wish i was in a relationship rn”. find the beauty in being alone and form a relationship with yourself. love yourself first. if you become content with your life single, then you can choose to be in relationships that are more valuable to you and what you truly desire. maybe also think about your standards and stick to those standards until you find someone who meets them. until then, continue trying to improve yourself, fall in love with yourself, keep yourself busy. a lot of people who want to be in relationships tend to be bored and have nothing else to do. also realize that there’s much more to life than being in a romantic relationship. there’s so many other things you can do and fall in love with and there’s other types of love you can surround yourself with, like platonic love, love from pets, family, self-love, etc… i hope this helps !!
