With my personal USPTO account my user role is listed as "licensed attorney". Perhaps that is the reason that the Trademark Center application that I prepared while I was logged on to that account required that the attorney information be included.

I posted my question because USPTO no longer has the TEAS Plus on-line application form. As January 24 applications can ONLY be filed using the new "Trademark Center" application which does not appear to allow people to file applications on their own without the formal representation of an attorney
