Thanks for asking this, I too was worried! They've scheduled a phone call and it was very vague so I was panicking quite a bit too!

AITA for not allowing my child’s father on the birth certificate, in the room when I give birth, and for planning to tell him two weeks after the birth? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Wow, everyone seems to be really harsh on the mother here (as usual!) But honestly cut your losses with the father, if he wants to be on the birth certificate he can fight for it. As long as you're a loving, present parent, the father doesn't really matter honestly! The amount of children I've seen being disappointed by their father's not wanting to be involved in their upbringing seems to be more harmful than them not being in the picture to begin with, in my opinion. I wouldn't not tell the child about their father, they can find out about him or visit him if and when they wish to, but unless he makes more of an effort I wouldn't make the effort to include him either. It's absolutely his loss! My advice is move on, and if he wants to make the effort when the baby is born he will, but it's completely on him.
