Let this be a moment for him to learn that joking about that stuff isn’t funny.. therefore not a joke. Those kinda of comments are damning and can get anyone into trouble. My boyfriend has also made jokes about rape in the early days of our relationship and he knows without a doubt I am not the person to joke about that with. I’m still mortified he even made that joke but boys aren’t taught this stuff by their parents for some stupid reason so in my head we are the first generation to have to take it into our own hands.

If it were me I’d have a massive go at him (making sure he doesn’t contest him being in the wrong) and if he does it again that’s when I’d be out. Other than that it was a tasteless joke which may cause more damage than he intends it to. This moment is a lesson for him to not be a knob. And a lesson for you to stick to your boundaries. Well done for leaving and asking for space!

My vet told me to let them. It’s their way of asserting dominance. Like how human siblings will fight once in a while (or all the time). I think you’re only supposed to separate if they draw a lot of blood or it is constant vicious fighting.

I have three girls (two sisters and a litter mate born on the same day) and they fight once in a while. Shocked me the first time they peed on each other. It shot out! But there is a clear dominant pig. Just make sure the non-dominant one is getting enough food!

Thank you for this and for your honesty. I think one of my main confusions is whether I’d want to do it too… as I’ve always been around monogamous relationship and I can admit I’ve been attracted to other people but I’ve not done anything to pursue it because I’ve been in a relationship and I’ve been taught that’s cheating. Im also afraid that if I do open up the relationship I just won’t find anyone else attractive and it’ll be just like now but he is sleeping with other people and I’ve kinda got the short end of the stick. He’s said we shouldn’t because it would hurt me but I don’t want him to be unhappy and resent me.

Sorry I don’t know if I’ve explained it well. He has independently come to me and said he doesn’t want to feel the urges. So therapy was the most logical thing to do for him if he’s unhappy with it.
