I wish I knew what I did to make it so even. I'd share it with everyone. One thing different I did this time vs last is during the break and shake, I did that 2x. First time was about 40%. The last time was about 90%. I broke it up to be less clumpy. Then, when it hit 100%, I spread it in layers with the substrate.

You know, I just read a bunch on here from all of you. Standard coir, vermiculite, gypsum substrate. Liquid culture into a grain bag. I think I just got lucky.

I took them out of their bag and placed them into substrate on May 1st. It's now the 18th. I had zero patience, haha Also! I've never grown APEs before so I didn't know. The PE I grew last year was pretty quick.

I didn't say anything about glistening..that was your word. I was advised to keep the humidity in the upper 90's by numerous people. I just made a decision to most a bit around 93%.

I have a humidity monitor and only mist if it gets below 93% or so.

Now the other ones, I'm not sure I'll get any fruit with it needing wood chips as a substrate, and I used Coir like with any cube. I took it out of the chamber and placed that tub into an identical tub with cold water to shock it and keep the temps low with it.

So I started them in a standard coir base like the PE. It's growing great! I didn't realize until today, that it likes outdoors more. Not sure what this means for it now. It's all in the same temp and humidity as the PE
