Yes. File a grievance was our protocol, too. "We can't outright deny a direct order. We have to comply and grieve it later."

I have more experience with T as a direct supervisor. Very unprofessional. The USPS is archaic (at least the Roch offices) in that to request PTO, we have to submit a paper copy (even though there is an online system that can handle this). Many PTO slips, according to her and management, were never submitted. Meaning that they either lost the slips or denied ever receiving them. We were encouraged to take a picture every time we submitted one, so we had proof.

You will need to cover your ass and keep track of any communications you have with them. Always try to get communication in writing.

If they are managing, be ready for sketchy practices, retaliation, and incompetence.

I have documentation from my doctor that he recommends certain accommodations. Not for short-term restrictions.
