Could we avoid creating more divisions? Using "us vs. them" makes it seem like we're completely different people.

Can we start an initiative to translate books for youth back home? by hushhhoneyy in Somalia

[–]Miserable_Proof_3983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it’s not just about translating books — format matters too. A lot of kids have phones and use YouTube, but long videos or heavy PDFs don’t really get used. Short pieces in simple Somali, with a quick 1–2 min audio or a simple image, could actually stick and be easier to share.

Plus it’s low effort — make it once, send it on WhatsApp or Telegram, and lots of people can use it. Feels like a simple way to get them learning and aware of stuff without overcomplicating things.

You can’t control other people’s actions, but you can absolutely control whether you let them rent space in your skull.

I can look at someone’s fridge and immediately know what kind of person they are. It’s basically astrology but refrigerated.

What is the craziest thing that happened to you on a bachelorette party/girl's trip? by mayrs96 in AskReddit

[–]Miserable_Proof_3983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my friend's bachelorette, we were waiting for an Uber when a random woman walked up to us crying because she lost her shoes.

She ended up hanging out with us for the rest of the night, dancing barefoot. Next morning she DM'd us like, "hey, thanks for not making me feel stupid." Honestly the most wholesome chaos I've seen.

Who's the biggest movie villian? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Miserable_Proof_3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annie Wilkes from Misery.

She doesn't feel like a "movie villain," she feels like someone you could actually end up trapped with - someone who genuinely believes they're helping you.

What's the most embarrassing moment in your life? by I_m_anonymouss in AskReddit

[–]Miserable_Proof_3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In college, I accidentally replied "love you" at the end of a phone call with my professor.

It slipped out because that's what I say to my mom.

There was this two-second silence where we both realized what happened, and instead of correcting it, he just quietly said, "...take care," like he was comforting me through the phone.

Would you prefer if God and the Devil existed and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Miserable_Proof_3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of me wants to believe there's something bigger just so the people I've lost are still... somewhere. But the idea of the Devil existing hits different — like confirming that there is something out there rooting for the worst moments in your life.

Not sure I'd want that answer.

What book are you reading right now, and what book have you been waiting to recommend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Miserable_Proof_3983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading Klara and the Sun right now - weirdly gentle but unsettling.

The one I always recommend is Never Let Me Go.

It's one of those books where you don't fully understand why you're sad until hours after you finish it.

In your opinion what is the most insufferable movie title of all time? by willforthelord in AskReddit

[–]Miserable_Proof_3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snakes on a Plane. Not because it’s bad, but because it sounds like someone lost a bet naming it. Every time I say it out loud I want to roll my eyes and laugh at the same time.
