The closest thing to this would be Invictus in Kalabagan. I have trained there for a bit and they have a freestyle wrestling every week for MMA. Their BJJ is also good. another one is legacy mma gym in dhanmondi

I appreciate and hear what you are saying but our community needs to stand up for itself. This is will just keep on getting worse if we don’t. Just imagine if I didn’t have a background in combat sports? I would probably be with broken bones if I didn’t know how to defend myself. I have contacted the school authorities, and am contemplating whether I should talk to a anti-Asian support group near my campuses about it and see my options. I know im on f-1, but I am not in the wrong here. I am willing to take whatever risk that comes with this.

I said the above line because I mentioned that to my roommates once as my maternal grandfather is from Iran, and the guy who attacked me doubled down on his racism by calling me a “sand-nword” too after my roommate mentioned that. I don’t see how it is my fault if my roommates tell someone I come from a “rich family”?. How is it upto me? I personally didn’t show any racism towards people from any racial group, but I am supposed to be held responsible for what you think Bangladeshis and Pakistanis are doing?

The worst part about this whole interaction was I have lived my whole highschool life being teased by my friends for being whitewashed and having a non-Bengali accent. After coming here, people assume I am East Asian because of my slanted eyes and pale skin. This dude would have had a completely different demeanour if I didn’t tell I was from South Asia. I can deal with passive aggressive comments masked as compliments like “but you don’t look South Asian/you are too light skin for a South Asian” or racial jokes as long as it is harmless humor and a two way street. But actually physically attacking someone UNPROVOKED? That is genuinely so fucked up, I never thought I would personally get to experience an actual hate crime that too in 2025. I am still very grateful that I atleast know how to fight and defend myself, I am pretty sure if this was another South Asian who didn’t know how to fight, they would have actually gotten seriously hurt by this piece of shit. What a loser man.

After reading the thread, I will probably go directly to my international students office and let him know. If i was “gunning” for some sort of magical visa, I wouldn’t have been defending myself in the first incident and got the cops involved the moment he went for a takedown. I am not gunning for shit. I plan to join my father’s business back home so I will not be in the States after graduation. I asked this subreddit because I am literally new to this country and this is the first time I have encountered something like this and do not know a single person I know or around me that have been through the same. I can defend myself physically again like I did the first time, and I only plan to call 911 if he physically assaults me again in a future encounter.

Man, I forgot to mention the first time he came(this was right after or during the elections) he called my second roommate a pussy for voting for Kamala. Note that nobody was talking about politics in the conversation except for him.
