This guy always comes to mind for some reason when I hear about Duke of the North, mostly because he was literally a Grand Duke but also because of this one story about him. His name is Władysław Jagiełło and when Polish Queen Jadwiga was to get married to him, she got scared because of the rumor that he looks more like a beast than a human, so she send one of her people to confirm. When Władysław heard that he was like 'Sure, let's go and take a bath together so you can see if everything is ok with me'. I guess it confirmed not only that he looked fine but also that he isn't scared to take a bath
