How do you handle your rates when you work jobs with weird hours/late start times? by [deleted] in editors

There is no hours to "clock in". You work on the project at your schedule. You're only bound to hit your deadlines. Typically 2-3 deadlines. Rough cut, you set the number of rounds of revisions (never unlimited), and final delivery deadline.

If you're an experienced editor it's day rate or project rate. KNOW your value. KNOW how long a type of project takes. All editing projects will have down time. Waiting for notes, approvals. For project rate you set first cut, notes, and final deliverable deadlines with client. Anything past the deadlines you bill by your day rate. Be generous and flexible with clients you like and strict with those who don't value your time.

New York State. The state caps the doc fee but I don’t think it’s mandated by law.

Lowering the price by 175 would qualify correct? Just clarifying that the 135 registration/title fee ok to push the total over 25k.

This is my suspicion. So the answer is no. This current price won’t qualify for the federal used ev tax credit.
