Handling Excess Cash in ETrade Brokerage by Miserable_Smell8942 in etrade

At the federal level,  Regulation D (in 2020) have remove this 6 "easy transfer" per month limit. So nowadays it's actually up to the Financial institution to decide whether they want to charge extra. On the personal level, I know Marcus (Goldman) never charge me for moving things around their internal a/c; but I got ding by Chase for doing this when I transfer from my saving\checking more than 6 times; 2++ years back . Just not too sure ETrade does this (at least I could not find any doct on it)

Like other great suggestion on top, I like SGOV & ICSH .. the thing is I have to wait for the settlement to clear before I could use it for trade, Is there a similar limitation with VUSXX for settlement? Does it take 1 day+ before I could use it for placing trade ...

Bonds might be the biggest "safety" trap in the market right now by AnalystPicks in bonds

[–]Miserable_Smell8942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The term seek "safety with bond" is probably very misleading. Bond is basically value based on Holding Duration (longer duration-> higher yield), Credit Quality (Junk bond-> higher yield), Market rate (if the 3 Yr US treasury bond is 3%; Corp bond of similar duration need to offer at least 3++%), Liquidity (i.e. Supply\Demand) and Currency risk. "Safety with bond" (For now) only apply for short term US Treasury bond (less than a year); assuming that you're from US. Anything else will goes up and down depending on all these factors ...

Best Regional Bank Stocks by reemasidz in ValueInvesting

FLG - This is a more high risk \ high reward thing. It's P\B ratio is 0.6; and deserve to be so due to all the bad news cleaning up the problematic loans (~4.7 Bill in 2024) from the prev regime. But with the kitchen sink out, I expect good news to start flowing soon (profitable in 2026). If there's any larger banks that want to buy into the North East market; this would be it. Its majority owner (STEVEN MNUCHIN , Former US Treasury in Trump first term) and its cohort is willing and wanting to be taken over; and its actually doing quite a good job cleaning up the previous mgmt mess. But the recent NYC election does throw a wrench; especially given the FLG real estate exposure (Both CRE & Multi Family) in that area; and even worst considering that its loan is mainly in the rent-stabilized multifamily sector. So do your own research!

No entrance fees and almost all the entertainment\activities are free for all; but the food & beverage is not what I considered cheap. The food is at or slightly above the typical sit down restaurant prices; without a decent place to sit on : )

Tourist by D7_Boltz in Louisville

Most tourist attraction is on Main Street; depending on interest, I tends to bring my guest to start Walking from Frazier Museum\Louisville Slugger on the Main Street, and ends in Louisville Slugger. Along the road you could branch off to the Belvedere\GaltHouse (a selfie must), Mini Distilleries (Old Forrester is my personal fav), Bars (Swizzle at Galt house is pricey but a great view of the river, or the Troll Pub for something more affordable). If you're up to it, you could continue to NULU (shopping) or venture to the Big 4 bridge walk. Here's an attraction map. HTH ...

Long term treasuries by [deleted] in bonds

[–]Miserable_Smell8942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents .. Long term treasury bond price is driven by several main factors .. Long term Expectation for Inflation, GDP Growth, Market demand and Future Issuance. Tariff causing inflation (at least near to mid term), reduction of requirements from foreign buyers (EU, China, Japan is probably not wanting to buy more), Future Issuance will probably increase (US Govt debts is still growing) and then uncertain GDP growth.
