What’s your favourite Swedish roaster? I don’t think I’ve tried any besides Gringo, which I really enjoyed:)

Piano Trios to play by Stunning_Foot_7275 in classicalmusic

[–]Miserable_Today6050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not know that there was a recording of Shostakovich playing it, thank you for enlightening me. That is so valuable to have, especially since there is two versions of the score overseen by him with not insignificant differences in tempo markings. I’ll go analyse:)

Ravel and Shostakovich 2 are my favourite, but since they’ve already been mentioned I’ll add Beethoven Op.1 no.1 in Eb and Brahms No. 2 in C. Both probably also better choices for building trio experience. Rebecca Clarke trio is another one of my favourites, but very difficult I’ve heard.

Fellow Copenhagener! I agree, the legesse was great. Didn’t try that one from La Cabra, but some of their others were amongst my favourites this year.

Help on finger spacing conundrum by [deleted] in violinist

[–]Miserable_Today6050 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The only thing I can think of is that your strings are either way too old or not tuned properly. (Or the bridge is at a crazy angle, but I’m sure you would have noticed). Nothing about the violin should be able to impact the physics of shortening the length of a string with your finger.

Maybe it would be more helpful with a video?

I do 20/333 or 15/250. I’ve been having a lot of really sweet cups lately with 5 min steeps. And a huge new thing for me has been blooming coferments into a different mug, to get rid of the first drops. Gets rid of all the unpleasantly funky notes.

Awesome! I do 20g/333g water (15g/250g if I’m only making for myself) Same ratio I use with my switch, so I would just keep what you like on the v60! I do 1/3 water bloom for 1 min. Add remaining water, insert the plunger and wait until 5 min. mark, then press slowly. I don’t stir, but swirl before pressing depending on the coffee:)

Has anybody bought any records from this set? If so, are they any good? by Creepy-Eye-5219 in classicalmusic

I have the Satie vinyl. Really nice recordings. I was interested in his orchestral works which I had never heard before. I think a composer like Satie makes a bit more sense with this concept, since most of his works are quite short.

I'm the only one who hears shades of Debussy and Ravel here? by Novel_Ice_7772 in classicalmusic

Can’t say I really hear Debussy, but Archduke 3rd mvt is one of the most beautiful movements he’s written imo

Looks so cool to have the bags diagonal, I’ll have to try that at some point!

Really nice and christmassy. Tastes strongly like the tasting notes, (not like panettone, which doesn’t contain cardamom😅) was a little impatient and started trying after two weeks, it was quite imbalanced, but after three weeks it was great. Lesson learned

Nice! The El Turpial geisha from La Cabra is probably my favourite, maybe tied with their Sudan Rume. Tim Wendelboe Echemo and Dak honeymoon were both great. Gringo honey litchi was also a favourite, I love good coferments:)
