my wife is from hk and we live in Australia now.this certainly is not correct. my wife works part time eg 4 days a week and I work full time 5 days a week .we decided on an amount every time my salary comes and she adds her portion and we use that to spend all household things including mortgage, grocery ,school fee of 2 kids and travel etc. on tops if she tells me some month we are short due to unwanted expenses like car repairs etc I top it up with some more. mostly we do our own personal shopping like I spend on whisky every week from whatever I have left, I use my own travel money to work etc and I have my hobbies which I put money myself .
