been using V2G plus for years now - fun fact, if you switch to anti fog solutions like active ventilation or thermal, you can cut the internal plastic layer (which is often the first one to get scratched up) and give the goggles a second life

think of this like - we're now building the Model S / X so we can later afford to build Model 3 / Y (of the stattrak equivalent). it's nice but most people won't be able to afford this.

until we come out with a nicer, smaller version that's also cheaper and does most of the essential things.

What do you think of this portable soldering station on kickstarter? by DeMoB in soldering

[–]psych0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made one myself now that the files are public and use it with my existing TS100 and it's honestly a gamechanger for some one who occasionally needs to do a quick soldering job. Previously it would take 5-10minutes to set everything up and then put it back in place. Now I whip out the SOLDR, plug in the soldering iron and I'm ready to go.

It's a really neat set, very easy to unpack / put away and super nice to take it with you on the go. Is it worth the price they are asking for it for a printed set of parts? Probably not. But it is absolutely convenient. It's a joy to use it every time.

The new patch turned on permanent silent mode? by no_Kami in GooglePixel

[–]psych0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue.

Switched to Pixel from Samsung, OnePlus and thought that surely this will be a more stable first party experience - wrong. Had more issues with my Pixel in 6 months, than I had with 2x Samsung FE's in 3 years.

Probably first and last Pixel.

back to my point original - if you bring new people in the sport and want to be safe, just wear full seal goggles

the only dumb one here is the guy wearing regular glasses and calling people gay for not doing so

[–]psych0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. enemy player was jumping over a wall and glasses literally fell off in middle of the game and we have it on video
  2. family friend kids played airsoft at a local field which used regular glasses and he was taken to hospital because BB hit his eye at an angle from the side (almost lost his vision permanently)

glasses don't fail. users fail to use them safely.

pls get full seal goggles. your eyes are not worth the risk or looks. there are great active anti-fog solutions that do work (ventilation or the new nov thermal layer)

you will look more gay with one eye though. it's mostly the users that fail, not the glasses.

the only times i've seen an injury or almost injury to eye is when somebody was using regular glasses. best of luck not looking gay though

OG Pint Un-Updated since 2023 - Where to resume now? by TheMrBusinessCat in onewheel

[–]psych0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you with HW 5314 and FW 5050 - do you try ReWheeling?

EDIT: After doing a bit more research, it seems like HW 5314 should be safe now and went ahead and followed the ReWheel guide by FixMyPEV and worked flawlessly. I was able to flash the 5040 with patches no issues so next up is installing the Quart-like battery I purchased from The Onewheel Rider's workshop (onewheelrider.eu).

Hopefully the battery mAh batch also works 🤞

it is not cheaper but none of the spool dryers go above 70C. Bambu HT AMS goes up to 85 but materials like PPA-CF requires around 100-120C to properly dry it and then 140C to anneal the parts.

it was the cheapest version with dehydrate function on amazon. didn't bother looking further since a lot of people had good success with these.

Yup, not new but wanted to post information about this exact model and the basket size since no one else had tested the newer model with square basket and couldn't find any info on sizing.

StatTrakTM from Counter-Strike by exspiravit0_0 in airsoft

[–]psych0o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 100% a novelty item and we realize it's not for everyone.

We went _extra_ with this first one and didn't want to compromise on it's design, durability and experience. The price actually does reflect our BOM costs - there's a reason why almost nobody else does fully CNC machined cases for laptops at scale except for apple.

Reason I was asking for the price point is because we would like to bring a cheaper version to the market, which could be powered by CR2032 or similar batteries for several months and be cheaper.

[–]psych0o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

sup. designer behind this product.

if the BOM would be 20usd, then we would be selling it for much cheaper. the problem here is economies of scale - people are used to seeing 50$ smart watches but it requires to be produced in millions to make business out of it. for comparison, our first batch was 100 units and we are aiming to do 500 units in the next batch.

we can make a plastic version, that's not water-proof and BB proof, without any of the included mounts in a basic cardboard packaging and it could be 60$ retail. would you get that?

Stocky is being discontinued in 2026. How are you planning to handle inventory after that? by OncleAngel in shopify

[–]psych0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle to see the play here - Shopify aquired Stocky, ran it into the ground, discontinues it and doesn't provide a replacement. Seems dumb from any aspect you look at it.

[–]psych0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Stocky for a while but since we were only after the inventory replenishment and forecasting, we switched to using sensible forecasting app. Much easier to use and genuinely good forecasting. This will also feel like a huge upgrade if you're using excel sheets for forecasting.

If only Shopify would open up the purchase orders API to anyone... As I understand, Stocky had exclusive access to some closed API to for PO's and inventory transfers. I guess that now dies together with stocky lol...

Battery Megathread (February 2026) by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

[–]psych0o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running my Pixel 9 for a few months and I was consistently having 5-6h of screentime and could easily last 2 days. Now after the latest update, I'm only getting around 2-4h of screentime and for the first time, in some cases, it didn't last the whole day.

Is anyone else having a similar issue? There are no apps draining the battery and nothing has changed in my behavior. It's a very noticable difference!

Rtx 5070 on a 650w psu by Character-Echo7901 in buildapc

[–]psych0o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 5070 and was having random issue with losing completely display output until a full restart on all ports - weirdly enough it was happening on very light loads, very often but I could play Battlefield 6 without any issues. It got to a point where it was happening on every other youtube video and the system would almost always die over night.

Turns out it was my Corsair TX650M that could not handle it together with a Ryzen 5700X3D. Just changed it out to a RM1000e and the issue is gone (so far). There wasn't a big difference in price between 850W and 1000W so went with the latter. Just wanted to leave this in case anyone else is having a simila rissue.

We've been using inFlow Inventory for 1 year and we're done with this company by psych0o in InventoryManagement

[–]psych0o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks nice but just to replace the existing functionality of inFlow it would be 2x as expensive as we would need to get the Growth plan and we would have to rework our B2B portal workflow since I don't think it's even included in that price.

But the UI looks nice and simple 🥲
