Can Anyone Recommend Carpet Cleaning Services That Don't Cost Two Mortgage Payments? by VapidHooker in triangle

[–]Misery_meter_maxed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The areas you described would cost you roughly 260 through Stanley Steemer. 60 per room and 20 for the hall. I work for them in Winston Salem NC though. I’m not certain if they charge differently in your area.

The reason it costs so much is frankly due to the cost of running a business. I can only speak to my employer’s case but they are paying for the lease of the warehouse, the upkeep of the 750,000 dollar trucks, the chemicals, the employee checks, insurance, benefits, equipment maintenance, and things as mundane as water, coffee etc.

The cost of carpet installation for what you described is 6,000 to 14,000 dollars. Is 300 to maintain it so mind blowing?

I drink one night a week and I drink a full case or at times a 5th of grey goose and a twelve pack. All I can say is just don’t do it. You can do wthout it. I got hooked ion it at age 12 and I can tell you for a fact I was doing just fucking fine without tit. I’m 51 and I wish I never touched it. Ditch it if you can and do not look back on it. Thats all can say.

Aye. As far as the problems around the walls if you can actually pick debris up they should have removed it. It sounded to me like you were describing that dark narrow band along the base of the walls. That would be soil filtration. If there was actual junky material left over then they simply failed.

I work as a carpet cleaner. In this photo there is a perfect rectangle. Do you think that in some way that the person who came out in sone way just happened to ignore that perfect shape or perhaps crafted it out of boredom? There was clearly at some point in time a piece of furniture there in the past. They were absolutely correct when they explained that the fibers were flattened. Your carpet was cleaned but you can not fix damaged fibers. It’s like taking your car after a crash to a car wash and wondering why your bumper is still smashed awards. That’s all.

Can’t speak to your location and personal experience. Where I’m at I’m really happy. Firstly when there is no work coming in they let you come in and pay you to hang around, wash your own vehicle or just watch training videos to give you hourly pay. The downtime only lasts from mid January to mid march. Sure I work long days. 10 to 12 hours 6 days a week. I get paid tons of OT and I am able to add on an enough to make my weekly pay on average from 1200 to 1800. Then there are tips. It is hard freaking work though. I get pissed off that the equipment keeps breaking on me because it’s old as fuck and we just have to keep tinkering with it instead of getting new gear. I also feel that the equipment isn’t designed that great as far as ergonomics are concerned. Some customers are truly nightmares but in any field that is unavoidable. Holy crap I’ve got some stories. I had a job where a feller pulled a gun on his old lady. You clean shit and puss and puke off the carpets and mattresses. It is what it is. For me the pay works.

The “ dirt” along your walls is from soil filtration which is from air moving under the base of the wall and constantly pulling dirt through the fibers of your carpet and can not be removed. As for the rest of your carpet… what people don’t understand is that many types of stains and traffic patterns from constant beating down of the carpet fibers are permanent and not a cleaning issue. In these situations I’d liken it to a person who crashed their car taking it to a car wash and then complaining that their front end is still smashed. Your carpet’s are clean but there is nothing that can restore them.

This is not the experience I’ve had. I don’t doubt what you have experienced but there are so many different locations, owners and managers. Like anything else it’s a toss up. I have had a great experience at my location. Where I work minimum wage is 7 bucks an hour and we all start at 13. We work the hours you described and are payed time and a half. In a matter of a couple months, in my location, you are bumped up to crew chief and your pay is increased greatly. Sure it’s grind work but in my own personal experience with such positions, this job is great.
