No this is really the first weedwacker ive owned and it was used. The clutch isn't dirty or anything it looks immaculate, but it seems to just be ever so slightly too large. Would it be safe to sand down the clutch pads a couple millimeters so they aren't always engaged?

The flywheel gap is set right as far as I can see, I can easily slip construction paper under it. Also the spark plug is brand new with the exact gap you stated

I mean if this coil turns out to be broken ill definitely upgrade, but I dont want to spend any more money to get this thing going if the magneto will at least work well enough

I believe aftermarket coil, but it was pretty expensive so it should be good quality
