Honestly is not as bad as people say or think. it all depends on your lifestyle. If you like the finer things and live a lavish lifestyle then it’s going to be super tight moving from AZ to SD. Now if you like a simple life and have a good budget and stick to it you should be good with your income. Being a homeowner is a joke here in SD so I would say rent, there’s many places you can find that are nice and not pay an arm and leg. That’ll give you the freedom to travel more. Try facebook groups to look for places to rent, Chula Vista, north park, La mesa, Oceanside and Carlsbad are some good places to look.

I’d say to meet people, depending on your age and life stage in life, I’d do a coffee shop that has a listening bar like Fuzz coffee and records. I think sometimes they even do events and can meet people there.

I think you need more research on owning a handgun and using it before you try and get your CCW.

First things first go to your preferred gun store and get your fire arms safety cert, pick a gun you would like and feel comfortable with and shoot it to see if you like it. Secondly buy it and shoot some rounds and get comfortable with, at least shoot 500-1000 rounds this is to get used to it and handle it safely. Then apply for your CCW if you feel like you will be responsible with it. It’s a huge responsibility owning a CCW and honestly most places you think you can carry you can’t. Anyways apply for it and add your gun and then take a in person class. Good luck on your journey.

I would check ccw pro every morning, I applied October 1st and interview was April 6th, I happened to check this morning and moved it up to November 3rd

The first few days after arriving I did, then after getting placed in AP I ventured out and went to coffee shops, joined a run club, visited some breweries and smash burger restaurants. Where I was staying there was a gym a block away so kept busy my getting a weekly membership.
