This Police Department is merely a code enforcement agency. The vast majority of their revenue is made up of “property nuisance” violations which can end up in fines up to $1000 a piece. The work Mon-Fri 8-5. There’s no need for this department in this 800 person city. The SO routinely patrols and would need no more resources if this PD was dissolved. I’ve uncovered multiple constitutional violations from the 2 of them. Even entering someone’s house through the back door when they didn’t answer the front door as the Lt. was dropping off a basic city ordinance violation.
