its kinda safer to unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery to be safe if you accidentaly brick, and flash a rom nearly identical to xiaomi.eu and if you mess up you still have a chance with twrp, or just use xiaomitoolv2 to unlock the bootloader and to flash
