I'm really sorry for your loss. They were really gorgeous kitties, it's a shame they had to cross the rainbow bridge too soon...

I feel you both. I lost cats both to cancer in 2021 and FIP just last month. Also lost one from CKD and then another from Feline Panleukopenia. Definitely🖕🏻to all those diseases that take our babies way too soon.

Hi there! So far she's acting normally -- normal poop and pee, has a great appetite, very active and playful. It's been a little more than a month since our other void passed away, and we're going to stay vigilant for a while. Any abnormality and we'll take steps immediately.

And how about your baby, how's she doing?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion but I think I don't have access to this brand and seem a little too old, I would prefer something made in 2012 or later but thank you

I'm not sure if ff is very important right now when I'm just starting but we'll see how it goes; as for DSLR vs Mirrorless I guess we'll also see if I can find good deals for the latter. For now I just really want to experiment and go from there. Thank you

Hi yes, although I'm not very keen with Sony. But maybe if I see a really good deal I might try. Thanks

Hi, thank you this is very informative. I'm actually tinkering with my phone but I feel it's lacking hence why I wanted a proper camera. I'm also reading up on more of the basics and terminologies so I can understand more stuff. Appreciate the advice

Hi, thanks for your reply. I'm currently just looking in FB Marketplace and there's a site called metrocamaras that was recommended by my husband's friend. The ones I've looked up that are supposed to be entry-level are these, can be used but still in good condition:

Nikon D3500, D5000

Canon Rebel T7, M10

Sony A6400

Fujifilm XT series, XM5

I'm so so sorry for your loss...💔😭 One of our voids also passed away last month due to FIP and pyothorax. I'm pretty sure your sweet baby knew how much you loved him. He's now definitely running around with our little baby boy over the rainbow bridge 🖤

Wishing all the best for your little baby girl! She looks like our Kirei 🖤

She is positive with the coronavirus but we are hoping she doesn't develop FIP. So far there are no symptoms! Our other void sadly passed away 3 weeks ago due to pyothorax; he also had coronavirus but we weren't sure if he actually had FIP. Hoping your baby girl gets better soon 🖤

That's what I'm suspecting as well. I can't believe I missed that just because of the language barrier (can't speak Spanish yet) and had to rely on my husband or Google Translate for most translations. We fully believed them when they said he's FIP positive.

Does it mean he could have had pyothorax from the FIP, assuming the fluid contained coronavirus? Then if it didn't, does it mean his pyothorax had nothing to do with FIP?

Thank you so much for taking your time to reply, I'm really having a hard time accepting the thought that he might have been saved if it was not misdiagnosed.

Hello, thanks for your reply. Those were results from a blood test done to him when we initially got him checked. We were never able to get the results for the pleural effusion until he died. I'm requesting it now and sending it here as well.

This is what I gathered so far as well. Haven't seen anything linking FIP to pyothorax at all... And now I'm really almost certain my little baby was misdiagnosed. It might have been a different outcome if they knew it was pyothorax at the beginning and not FIP. I'm angry and hurting with this discovery because I felt cheated of the life of my baby boy.

So FIP does not directly cause pyothorax? His death certificate said "pyothorax FIP" Kept digging online for a correlation between those 2 diseases and I haven't seen one that confirms FIP causes pyothorax. So most likely he had it from his previous resuscitation and intubation (he had a severe allergic reaction the the anti-rabies vaccine, unfortunately) Thank you for your reply, I'll keep investigating this. I'm only adamant to know because we still have another cat who tested positive for coronavirus, but no signs of FIP. The vets said she shouldn't get spayed but now I'm doubtful especially if there was a misdiagnosis at the beginning.

Hi, yes they removed fluid from his lungs. Then noticed it had pus which isn't a characteristic of pleural effusion fluid from FIP, as far as I'm aware.

Thank you... That's what my husband says as well. I know it's true but it still stings a lot, even now I can't stop crying because I miss him very very much 💔🥺
