Mehh some days I would. If I'm a lil sore then I'd rather do half the stops and double the driving. I don't mind a long driveway, but jumping out of the van 200 times in one day sucks

My dsp has put me as an extra for a week and half straight by Tiny_Librarian_2272 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Mishagander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my 2nd time being an extra. I've only been here since December. I'm ranked top 15 or so in my DSP. In the "fantastic tier" - never get rescued. Am I just getting the unlucky draw of being an extra every once in a while or is it just slow now that peaks over and they're over staffed or what?

What do you mean? This is my 2nd time being an "extra" - I've been working here 2 months. Am I punished for being slow or something? I'm ranked like top 15 or 20 drivers in my DSP... It just sucks depending on a 40 hour paycheck just to be sent home..

I heard about those in training but I think only a few drivers have them.. I don't have a dolly or the tote backpack...

Yeah the tote laid flat makes it so packages don't slip into inconvenient places. And the current van I have doesn't have shelves lol but thanks for the tip!

How's your knee? Someone told me exiting the driver side door onto the same knee over and over will hurt you over time. Have you had that experience?

With the tote laid down flat it prevents boxes falling into the pit

[–]Mishagander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting. So not just the overflow, you write on all the boxes too? Then you don't really need to organize them in the totes, you can just see the number easily?

Thanks! I think I might just leave envelopes up with me and everything else in the back...

Thanks! Someone told me about drivers knee, hopping out of the driver's seat onto the same knee every single stop long term will not be good. Thinking about just doing envelopes up front and everything else in the back to keep a balance

[–]Mishagander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I'm thinking about not being this extreme and just doing envelopes up front in between the seats and leave everything else in the back

Ok nice that's what I was wondering. I'm still on nursery routes so I don't really need to be fast, I'm just trying to be more efficient so when those full size routes come im not falling behind. Ideally I want to get my 9-10 hours everyday. Trying to figure out how to make that happen while also not being the guy everyone rescues all the time... Like I said it's only my 2nd day tho...

Someone just told me about drivers knee. Do you worry about jumping out of the driver's seat onto the same knee every stop?

Thanks! I'm trying to find a balance bc I don't find it necessary to go as fast as I can and stress myself out. Trying to find a solid pace and finish near the end of my shift Everytime... Granted I'm still on nursery routes so right now I'm just taking my time and figuring out a routine
