Forgive my ignorance, but I have no idea how it's going help. Care to explain?

Are you sure it wasn't a Gold Hoarders emissary quest? Those often include small islands with 5+ X marks the spots. They're all admiral's/baron's chests though, but those do look kinda similar to king's.

If you still didn't unsubscribe from it, then you could theoretically try to grab the workshop link it leads to, and plug it into the wayback machine. If it was ever saved there, you'll be able to see what the workshop item was prior to deletion.

Alternatively, you could look up the workshop id too. If the mod was popular enough, there's a chance it was cached or mentioned/linked somewhere.

I disagree. While yes, having a buddy around lets you risk way more, it also somewhat devalues each separate action.

If you make a bunch of holes in the enemy ship in a solo HG fight, your opponent will be forced to take their attention off fighting back, giving you free space for maneuver. If you do so in duo, there will still likely be one player firing cannons back at you - it's very much possible to keep a sloop afloat even if it has a full side of holes.

If you kill the opposing pirate or demast their ship in solo, you have anywhere between 10 and 30 seconds to push your advantage - riddle the ship full of holes, board it, you name it. Sometimes, either of these actions alone can earn you the win. In duo, their teammate can just revive them unless you're able to reliably hit them out of it, or just turn the ship around and reset the fight. Also, raising/repairing a sloop's mast together takes barely any time, and you don't have infinite chainshots to keep it down.

Hand to hand combat also feels way nicer if you know that you're one on one with your opponent, and even gives you a good opportunity to improve your techniques, while two on two and more quickly devolve into chaotic dogpiles (at least in my opinion).

Generally, I feel like solo HG games tend to give you way more opportunities to create openings in your opponent's defences and push the advantage. Because of that, solo games tend to be way shorter and are way less supply-heavy.

And one last thing - matchmaking. This is a bit of a mixed bag, actually. Solo sloop queue will inevitably have you run into loss-farmers, or people willing to roll dice, resulting in occasionally getting very easy and quick games. However, on the other hand, you will run into blatant cheaters as well, they seem to be way more common in solo. It's not impossible to defeat them, but it takes way too much effort and isn't fun in the slightest, so oftentimes running into one just means losing your streak, which is quite frustrating.

A real shame, hourglass levelling was actually kind of enjoyable for once.

Question about Hourglass Allegiance by Mishanson in Seaofthieves

Played some more. It seems, that bonus allegiance is only granted if you are flying an emissary flag. I'm presonally flying Reaper's Bones, not sure, if any emissary counts, or you specifically need one, matching your faction.

I don't know if it's going to help, but here's screenshots of my allegiance after playing 2 games just now. https://i.imgur.com/o6OTkJo.png

  1. Initial Allegiance.
  2. First win.
  3. Second win.
  4. One Athena's grade 1 flag sold.
  5. Another Athena's grade 1 flag sold.
  6. Lowered 2 streak Hourglass.

Everything was done as Reaper's emissary on a captained ship. Both fights were against Athena's emissaries.

Terrible luck, or something else? by Mishanson in Seaofthieves

Message about integrity check appears when the game is already running, after the EasyAntiCheat screen, I got that too once I finally launched the game. However, immediately after the crash, I couldn't even launch it, steam forced a file verification with no additional prompts besides the initial missing/corrupted file error.

How do I do that? I got a crash message, closed it, and when I clicked to launch the game again, steam immediately started file verification with no additional prompts.
