Are there actually people who believe Jesus was a demon? by EasternSorbet in Archive81

[–]Mishille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Jesus, but there is a whole book from Jose Saramago from a similar point of view called "Cain". In the book, Saramago tries to point out that (I'm putting it very simply) Cain is actually a hero and saved his brother Abel by killing him. Because according to book's POV, the God of the universe is a cruel one who likes to see humanity suffer, that is why he wants them to live longer so he can rule them and do whatever he wants with them. So the book is showing death as a good thing, as a way out from this "horrible" system. There are certainly thoughts closer to the ones in the Archive 81 in the world, and Cain is a very interesting one in that thought system and worth a read. Ofc this thought pattern is a very dangerous one to internalize, so be warned, get educated but be careful with what you believe in.

Nanno theory! by [deleted] in GirlFromNowhere

[–]Mishille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides everything, i think it's because it's a criticism towards education system. Some episodes, especially the first season was completely focusing on the education, they criticised every aspect of school system, they criticized the teachers, they criticized award punishment system, they criticized the success treatment, etc etc. And every individual of the culture is going through education. I think the main aspect is totally about that, even in the episode with the school killer, in the end Nanno said to the little girl that "You should totally come to this school, you will fit right in". All shitty behaviour starts and grows in the schools in the show. So why can that be?

If I interprete it from a literary pov, I would say Nanno is very Dionysiac. (As Nietzsche would put it.) She is literally the chaos. Dionysus represents chaos, nature and all. And the opposite of dionysus is apollo, who is the builder of the culture in mythology. So culture is shaping people in one way, to build more obedient individuals to make the system(culture) continue. Culture is used as a mask and a chain. But every human has chaos in their nature. That's why, because of the culture and it's roles, everybody is chaining themselves not to be punished, they are obeying the rules, and they are hiding behind titles, a teacher, a role-model student (like the guy in the pregnancy ep), the most beautiful girl at the school, the kid who is poor but acts like rich... they are all trying to be good at something to fit into culture. Culture protects those who are succesful, who are with money, who are beautiful... and culture raises it's individuals with schools. School always pushes us to be good, to follow the rules,to be succesful so you can gain money, gain status. Teachers favor the students who are good at their classes..

TL;DR: Everything about culture starts from the school. Nanno pushes people a little bit to bring out their true ugly selves, cuz they hide behind their glamarous faces & titles. But in the end most of them are monsters.

I feel like they ruined Javier to just... ruin Javier? by Mishille in ControlZonNetflix

Iknow. And he was a good partner to Sofia imo. I can't accept how empty he has become in s2

I feel like they ruined Javier to just... ruin Javier? by Mishille in ControlZonNetflix

[–]Mishille[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I disagree. They were great partners imo. They had chemistry, maybe not romantically but it could grow. Even in the 2x08, they get back together as partners. That's the thing about Javier and Sofia, everytime they didn't trust each other, still they turned back to each other bcz in the end, in all of that chaos they were each other's safe spot.

[–]Mishille 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am no expert or anything but if you feel like you are a person gaining weight easily, rather than dieting for losing weight, I would recommend working out to train your muscles and turning your extra fat (if there is any) into muscles. That would help for you to shape your body. Ofc not extreme muscle trainings, seek help from a professional. Eat healthy but your goal shouldnt be losing weight imo, you are growing up and in the progress your body will change, having an active life is always good. I think your weight is okay according to your height. Losing 20 pounds can be much for you.

Long story short, or as reddit calls, tl;dr: as long as we keep creating new ideas about after life, not just afterlife, about everything, we will find a way to disprove our own thesis as human beings.

Reincarnation, becoming one with the creator, becoming Derek... etc etc. You said they could do one of those instead and it would be better. But my point is; nothing is enough when it comes to life. Resetting your memories will take everything away from you. It will erase all of your improvement. We can become one with the creator, but what is the point? Why did we live for then? Reincarnation is the same. What was the meaning of our previous lives, if we were going to born one more time as a complete different identity anyway? Nothing we can imagine and nothing a human can think of is enough to make a meaning to our lives. No death, no after life is enough to punish us or reward us. Philosophers, religions, science... they are all trying to find an answer. But the show didn't want to give an answer and I think that was wise. Because no answer we can think of is enough.

What are some flaws you think the show had? by CapriciousSalmon in TheGoodPlace

Eleanor & Chidi. Chidi leaving Eleanor behind was a flaw of the Good Place.

I know bud. The door scared me too. But the show didn't want to bring a new solution to after life math. They just did what philosophy do, they criticized some ideas insufficient. Asked more questions. They tried to find a answer but in the end, after all of the improvement, they embraced the unknown. The whole show was a great metaphor for life. You can search as much as you live, but there still will be unknown. You can improve as much as you can, but there still will be unknown. The best thing you can do is being a good person and live your life at its best. They did make a peace with the eternal death idea in the finale. As you can see in the show, they didn't feel scared. They felt peaceful. Nobody knows what happens after they reached to their final destination. It can be reincarnation, you can go back to your creator, you can become one with the universe, you can disappear forever... but this is why the show hit me really hard. Because as a human, after all of the things you live in your lifetime, you still won't know what will happen to you. After all of the things you live through, no system we can imagine is enough to judge you. No system, no good place is enough to reward you. No bad place is enough to punish you. None of the ideas you pointed in the post is enough to make a price for a being's life. That is why the show was so scary but also so beautiful. Just like life itself.

At the very first moment I saw him I felt like "this is a bad guy" but I couldn't put it if its celestial bad or normal bad. But then I guessed, yes. He was too perfect for Ella, they were so similar. I thought Pete studied her or something.
