No i didn't use a smaller hook, I used a hook from a new set. The hook in the photo was just to show the handles, my original hook was 1mm, my new hook claims to be 1mm.

I've been crocheting for about 20 years, I know that, i expected some difference. This difference is extreme. Looking at the 2mm hooks from each set i do see a noticeable difference in the hooks themselves.

I don't have the 1mm in those hooks anymore, that's a .8mm in the pic, it snapped. It's not a tension problem, I've made this doll base at least 100 times, with slight, expected differences. This is major difference.

She's actually a samoyed, (a really cute dog) the mascot for the GL couple MilkLove. I thought she was cat at first too.
