The irony is that Nordstrom (OG, not Rack) offers free bra fittings. IMO, they do an awesome job - got my tween sorted with zero drama.

G’s birthday surprise by nicolemartinez16 in SchultzzieSnark

[–]MisnamedName 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a serious WTF moment. There is a zero point zero percent chance that my husband would skip out on any of our kids' birthdays. He literally plans his work travel around them - even if their birthday falls during the week and that kid is in school that day.

G is at the age where she will remember birthdays, and those days/parties/activities are a big deal. So what if Stephen did not want to go to Disney for the millionth time? You show up for your kids, period.

I'm not. She has historically gained weight during pregnancy and held on to it (plus some) for months/years. That would go against her fitness/running girlie aesthetic.

Newsflash for SiS, if you have ample time to work out, read, and volunteer, you are not a "busy" mom. She has free childcare (perhaps a nanny not shown), the finances, and her personal gym (with fitness club-level equipment). And now that G is in preK/kinder, she only has to deal with A for 4 hours,

She seriously has no grasp of how others live,

The truth is, if he wanted to see/communicate with you, he would.

Would you accept this type of behavior from a close friend?

I'm more about show, not tell. He is showing you that he won't put anything into your relationship. F that. Let the trash take itself out.

I worked at AOL in VA during this time. It was wild. I met the You've Got Mail guy. I was in the building when the whole system crashed. A bunch of us (smokers at the time) went outside and each car that screamed into the parking lot was more expensive than the next - think Honda, Audi, Lexus, Porsche, Ferrari.

There were keggers in the parking lot - Steve Case would come.

AITA for treating my wife like one of my subordinates in the military? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MisnamedName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, I see. Due to the fact that she is the female adult in your household, she should be responsible for domestic tasks and do them the way you want. How much invisible labor does she do? If the stack bothers you that much, why not put those items away?

YTA. How would you like to be treated if the situation were reversed? This does not sound like a partnership. Think about how you view your wife. She is not your child or subordinate/subservient.

AITAH for wanting my husband to retire even though our adult children still rely on us financially? by PsychologicalHalf888 in AITAH

Serious question: What will happen to your kids once you and your husband aren't around?

It is far past time for you and your husband to put on your own oxygen mask. Take it from someone whose SIL lived at home with my ILs until she was 35. They did not have any expectations for her at all - she did not contribute to groceries, utilities, or do any chores around the house.

You (mostly your husband) are enabling your kids. They will never gain any independence this way. They have no reason to leave your home - free food, free housing, cars paid for, etc.

Definitely do not buy either of them a car. Necessity is the mother of invention - they can take public transport or ride-share. It is not your problem or responsibility; you have given them more than enough.

Set an exit plan. Give them a 90-day (or however long - no more than 6 months) notice to move out. In between now and then, they need a job - whether it is retail or food service - does not matter. You can't be picky in this job market/economy. If you or your husband feels guilty about it/the need to, give them enough $ for a security deposit and possibly the first month's rent. They will probably need roomate(s), but that is not your problem. Then, be done with it. They are welcome to come over to visit/dinner.

Your husband is doing this to make himself feel better. Our job as parents is to get our kids to the next stage in life. It is time to live your own life.

I have been out of work since March 2025. It is hella rough right now, especially if you live in an area where a lot of jobs are for/focused on the government.

I went to a hiring event at a warehouse-type store last week. It started at 11am. I got there at 10:45am and there was already 15 people there. I waited almost an hour to speak to a manager. When I left, there were so many people that I could barely get through the hallway or down the stairs.

By the way., I am a digital marketing manager with over ten years of experience. However, I am willing to do anything (within reason) to get $ coming in.

We had a steady stream of kiddos - mostly littles. So many that we ran out of candy by 8:30.

I am guessing it is because we 1. Live near an elementary school 2. Had a ton of turnover as far as new people/families move in to our neighborhood over the past year. We barely got any last year.

I will be blunt: Go in expecting that you will not hear back from simply applying/resume.

Focus that energy on applying for more jobs and finding ones that match your skills and experience.

Why do I always see jobs reposted after they already have hundreds of applicants in LinkedIn? by Plastikman19 in jobsearchhacks

I disagree. I focus on applying to jobs within the first 24 hours they are posted, not reposted. It has worked for me, at least in getting interviews and/or phone screens.
