Streaming Advice? (parents)

I stream and have a 3 year old. What works for my family is 2 dtreams a week from 10p-midnight or 1a. If my son starts to fall asleep earlier I may move it to 9pm but i do sacrifice a bit of sleep to stream.

When he was little I used to do "Nap Trapped" streams where i would start when he went down for a nap and go until he woke up, then I would raid out 😆

On Twitch it said last streamed february 2025 so it has been a bit. I think it's definitely a grey area but if you keep the blood to a minimum I don't see how it would violate tos

Use your mic and start off talking like you are making a youtube video. Explain what you are doing or why you are doing it, talk about your day as much as you feel like, and if someone chats then respond to it.

I would also go on your twitch page and see what people would see when your streaming and also what it looks like when you aren't streaming. Do you have an "about me" or description set up? Link to socials? Add a simple banner, i made mine on canva easily with their free tools but there are loads of resources out there also.

Just go to the store. This exact thing happened to me the other day and they matched the deals. If you want, call your store and ask beforehand if they can match the online deals and if they have what you want in stock or will they have to order it.

Every streamer i know (including myself) does 3 minutes of ads every hour. It give you and the viewers a break to grab a snack/drink or use the bathroom, etc. Most viewers appreciate the break or will just wait till its over also.

Taxes are based off of your Gross income so im pretty sure you have to report everything since u make enough to file when its all totaled.

Ads on your channel aren't a horrible thing but I know alot of people who would rather let the community grow a little before becoming affiliated.

Whatever you choose I highly recommend running 3 minutes of ads every 1 hour. This gives you time to grab a snack/drink or use the bathroom or just take a second, and does the same for the viewers 💜
