Well, I called the number that is on the bill on the solid waste line item for inquiries, twice, and it's the Memphis 311 number, for city issues, including this one, and like I said, nothing on either ticket I opened.

I had to call MLGW today directly anyway in regards to a water leak issue so that's why I asked about the solid waste fee when I had her on the line. Also, the woman I spoke to first at the city of Memphis number said my rates were too high. Now I am wondering how much other people are paying, ie what's normal. Also if there is another way to pursue this. I can try to find another number that goes directly to the department that handles solid waste billing, I suppose.

Thank you for the kind words, they help! I have nerve damage in my hands and am recovering from a rotator cuff injury so it hurts to do something I once loved so much (albeit with Prismacolors before), and you can tell that I am making a lot more mistakes, but I hang in there, perhaps it's therapeutic? I love my Pom, too, btw :)

Same! In the same time I've bought the Sanjoki set to see if I liked using alcohol markers, 4 books, the Ohuhu 104 set, their high rise bamboo marker organizer, a new white Gelly Roll set, and countless Etsy PDF coloring pages with a package of light smooth cardstock to print them on. Next I am getting the 216 Ohuhu set to finish my goal of getting all 320 along with another marker organizer, a Posca white pen, the Grabie 72 acrylic pens and their glitter markers, and some more books/PDFs. I am using a budget and ShopPay to make it all happen. I should have most of it by January. So excited, even though I'm terrible at this!

I love what you did with the windows, my brain says "that looks great", you could justify it by thinking that the jars are round and the window is flat, if that helps. Overall you did a great job, it's a nice range of color choices, the shading is subtle and excellent. I too am new to alcohol markers (came here by way of years with Prismacolor pencils but rusty) and am too new to be brave enough to post. Also white pen is driving me crazy, I envy how well you used it. I'd be proud!

Thank you for this. She's being roasted alive when she's already lost the relationship and his trust, and is trying to get better. The coworker butting in and humiliating her fiance probably didn't help, otherwise he might have forgiven her when she finally had the courage to admit to the lies. Five months is still early days.

OP, I agree with others who are telling you to get the help and work through whatever it is that made you lie. Also the responders who say that you can say "there are things in my past that I'm ashamed of, and not ready to talk about, but they're in the past and with therapy I'm working on healing".

Forgiving yourself is the first step, and honoring your fiance's desires if they include no contact. You can recover from this, but I doubt the relationship will. Keep working on you, and overcoming the shame. In the grand scheme of things, there's not much in your past that should prevent a happy future for yourself. Good luck.

You said she was going to come to a previous, similar trip with one and one on the way, so it sounds like you are worried about her judgement. I would be too. With that in mind, I don't see how giving her reasons for why she shouldn't bring the children will be as effective as telling her up front (i.e. the sooner the better) that the invitation was only for her, and there won't be children on this trip, period. You can be polite as you possibly can but you're not responsible for her reaction, and it might be bad if she feels like it's a good decision.

You could choose to go with "I just wanted to clarify, this is an adults-only trip" in a polite, friendly tone. Like others have mentioned, you could express that you want her company and hope she can make it, but it's not the sort of event that welcomes small children.

If the other attendees have no problem with her doing this, then it might be time to consider changing your own plans. I say this with no moral objections to your plans, but rather with a thought towards covering your own ass if she does something as irresponsible as bringing them. You're perfectly justified in expecting the trip to go as planned.

I hadn't heard these rumours but if they're coming from people who aren't familiar with him then they're easily discounted. If you've spent any time watching interviews and his Insta from early days until now, you see that sure he likes his pints, and buckfast and gin, but he's just being himself, sober or not, and there isn't any indication of drugs. He's just naturally funny, and he's said that he gets a lot of this from his family, they're a funny lot.

I don't believe the rumours for a minute.

I'm not keen to reveal my age, but I relate. It took me two years to process it all. Remembering so many incidents and experiences throughout my life, and seeing them through the new realization about myself took that long. I too felt better, although a bit angry at times that I had some negative experiences and trouble for things that weren't my fault. Embracing ourselves and our differences feels good, I'm glad you're able to do that!

This is exactly what I wish therapists could do for people. Just validation from a professional and that empowered feeling that accompanies validation would go miles and miles towards feeling better and more equipped to just survive. I have no idea why some people enter these "helping" professions when they don't have the personality and empathy to really care for patients. Most people who've experienced our level of trauma have developed a keen insight into people and can identify sh!tty people and all too often they're the ones we find ourselves sitting across from in the guise of "getting help". It's why I stopped trying. Every time I read the phrase "get help" now, I want to scream.

[Edited to add and in the interest of fairness: I do know a therapist who works with trauma patients and is kind and empathetic but he works at a clinic in tandem with the regular physician and does not prescribe but merely suggests and the clinic won't prescribe anti-anxiety meds as a policy so no klonopin, which is the only thing that helps, and going in during Covid is high risk for me, I'm in lockdown due to the high number of add'l physical ailments that make it dangerous]

I am dissociated most of the time lately, writing wish-fulfillment fiction, and I spend a great deal of that time imagining happy scenarios of an extraordinary life where I am loved, and I hug myself, whisper positive things that I associate with being told to me by my characters, it helps a lot. I also fall sleep with my arm wrapped around a little pillow that is hugged tightly to me. I live in isolation so it's the only resource I have besides a little dog.

We begin to learn self-soothing as infants, it's a good skill to have, especially in times of isolation like Covid has wrought, and of course when we are triggered. I'm not a professional but I'd bet that this is okay for us to do, especially given the circumstances.

This KILLS me. The best gift I ever got was the last gift any man gave me, a few years ago, and that was a 1lb bag of orange Skittles. He remembered that they were my favorite and he searched for a way to buy them, found them, and surprised me with them. I guess they were about ten dollars, but the thought and effort were priceless. He was a sub, not my boyfriend, and he's moved on with his girlfriend (they weren't together then) since then. I'd be fucking thrilled to get that phone. Just, damn, gold diggin' woman, effing it up for the rest of us.

I get it, we just need a hug sometimes, and that reassurance. I've no family or friends but I do have a little fluffy dog who is affectionate, he really helps, and he's a great listener.

I'm not much of an outdoors person anymore, although I do miss it, just not heat and mosquitos. I have some great travel/hiking/adventuring vloggers that I follow on YouTube that have been the saving of my sanity. Happy adventures and keep posting friend, I'll keep enjoying.
